It Jaun Mata who Moyes signs.....

Moyes doesn't know what he is doing....

Just look how well Everton are playing without him at the helm....

Hmmmm I dunno what is better, Mata at Chelski or moving to UTD.

United. It's a travesty that a player of his quality isn't playing that regularly. If he moves to United he'll be guaranteed more games. If he's angling for the move, I'm guessing that's a big part of it since it's a WC year.

i find it strange how he just didn't gel into Jose plans.. anyway lets see what happens!

I think it's because he's not that solid defensively. Hazard and Oscar bring a more solid defensive side to the Chelsea game, and Willian never stops running. He's had his fair share of appearances under Mourinho (though less than previous years for Chelsea, and not much at all this month so far) but he doesn't seem to fit well under that system for whatever reason, while Hazard and Oscar are flourishing.

Latest rumours about Mata is that the deal is possibly 24-48 hours away with a medical perhaps on Friday.

Also heard stories on this, not sure what to make of it.. Would he really leave BM for United?

For Bayern, it makes sense. Dante is already 30, and they have Boateng, Badstuber, and Kirchoff, with Martinez also able to play at centre back, and van Buyten in reserve.

For United though, why would you guys buy a 30-year-old defender with no pace? That makes no sense to me.

Would be a strange one, unless they have someone already lined up. Perhaps its a ploy by Dante for a new contract.

Yep, probably this.

Exactly the same can be said of Shinji Kagawa. Which makes me question whether he would get more games at United in any event.

Mata has been Chelseas player of the season in the last two season, Kagawa has been incredibly inconsistent.

Agree. Kagawa was great in the Bundesliga, but hasn't set the EPL alight. Not saying he can't, but I haven't seen it so far.

Mata is EPL proven.

I don't get the whole we've/they've got Kagawa. City has 3 top class strikers and Jovetic (which I don't know much about him).

That is what we're all competing against.

Do you really think Mata can't improve United or is it more that you don't want Chelsea to lose him?

Behonest now. :D

Kagawa is being wasted at United. So sad :(

Besides where would Mata play? I thought Rooney plays #10 (which is why Kagawa hardly ever plays).

The transfer could mean a number of things:
1 - A slightly different formation for United.
2 - RVP still months from coming back ( Mata plays as #10 behind Rooney to try push for 4th)
3 - Kagawa or Rooney are gone in the summer.

Rooney's contract ends at the end of next season.
If United want to cash in on him they must sell him at the end of this season.

Being player of the season doesn't automatically make him undroppable, especially if the team are performing with or without him.

I don't particularly like the situation myself (am a huge fan of the way Mata plays) but the team needs to come first. I do hope that he adapts to the current setup and forces his way back into the first team, and I would wager that JM wants the same thing.

Not that he can't, and yes, I don't want Chelsea to lose him, but they already have a player of similar calibre and ability in Kagawa, and he is wasted far more than you could ever compare to Mata.

My worry with the potential signing of Mata is where does Moyes see him playing? Better not be off the wing. Yes, he can play there but he is better as a 10 and he and Fergie have already dicked Kagawa by playing him off the wing.

I also wonder if this signals a potential change up front? Rooney or RvP out in the summer?

Next on my wishful shopping list would be Koke/Lallana & Arturo Vidal.

If it signals a change up-front then I suspect it will be Rooney leaving. They can't beg him every bloody season to stay...

I didnt say he was undroppable  and that wasnt even the question. You were asking why we would we want to go for him because we have Kagawa.

How so, when he is back in training? Maybe weeks, but I doubt that it will still be months... good news for you guys, nevertheless.

I did say could mean, who knows whats really happening with RVP and his injury.
