But we have the main man Carrick. He normally has the best pass accuracy and defensive stats and normally starts all our attacks

Shame man.. Understanding the game still too difficult?

You obviously prefer Cleverly, since he passes forward so often... Right?

I'd prefer a MF - not one guy getting caught upfront and one guy disappearing behind the goal post leaving a gap between the Attackers and defenders

Injuries and a stop start season aside, undoubtedly Carrick hasn't had the best of seasons (but then how many of our players have). As for dbecks i think we should ignore him even if hes genuinely clueless, i think he likes to troll the Carrick topic for reactions.

Is Carrick going to the World Cup?

On this season's form, no. But since when has the FA ever considered that when making selections?

(Carrick should go to the World Cup anyway, IMO. They don't have another midfielder like him, not even Huddlestone).

Sure, but the other players dont get the grace that Carrick does.

Our MF is crap and thats no secret - a revamp is needed, but Carrick along with the rest needs to take a back seat for better players

#AskCarrick on a scale of Tom Cleverley to 10, how bad is Ashley Young?

:D LOL
:D

#AskCarrick Seeing as you are incapable of a forward pass - have you considered playing Rugby instead?

#askcarrick have you tried wearing your kit backwards to see if it will help you pass the ball forward?

Hey, Michael, can you please stop scoring own goals & start scoring for us again? #AskCarrick

#AskCarrick How do you do that trick where you disappear in big games?

Hahaha classics

You're not wrong in this.

But the point is that Carrick does not get the plaudits when he does perform well, except from a few observant fans. For the most part, he is derided regardless of what he does.

Thats just it - you need to be super observant to notice the little he does - but its not enough (not for United). Its easy to notice the flashy players (I get that), but players like Keano, Gerrard, Lampard, Makhelele, were not flashy - they were hardworking, prepared to get stuck in, able to drive a team, opp players knew they were in that MF

Having players like Rooney, RvP, Mata, Januzaj is awesome - but you need someone to win the ball and get it to these guys

It just seems like we missing that driving force in the middle. That is our engine and heart of the team.

Make no mistake - Carrick is a great professional, team player and has the ability to pass. I just feel that he doesnt have the gumption in him

In other words....

Carrick is not good enough to play for Utd.

He will be exceptional in the lower leagues. :D

The most sensible post that you have made on Carrick. And your point is a good one.

Ideally, Carrick would be a squad player for United, as cover for a world class midfielder.

Thank you and Thank you for not just jumping down my throat when I mention Carrick

Ideally yes, but we have what we have now and Maybe we can try and mix it up in the middle abit.....Play Fletcher as your worker infront of the back 4. Put Kagawa, Mata, Rooney and Januzaj in the middle and RvP upfront. Let the ball players have the ball in the middle

That Matic looks like a good buy?
