Its amazes me how the users on this forum expect one to not post in the Man United thread.

United supporters made themselves look like fools with all the Qunituple talk. Boasting and shouting everytime they got a chance that they will win the Quintuple. I see it every year,.

how is it foolish talking about quintiple? AFAIK this talk only started after December... and it wasn't raised at the beginning of the season by the members here...


So if United fail to do it, how can you expect other supporters not to rip them apart about it.

simply put jealously makes you nasty :P just because the team you support can't do it you have to try bring the other team who could have down to your level.

Just because the team who was capable of winning it you had to feel jealous and jeer them and laugh because they couldn't do it, no big deal United will try again next season. That's what all teams aspire to... Imagine Inter, Real, Barca, United, Bayer Munich, etc talking about next season not to be relagated as their goal... is that what every team should aim for?

Shame.

Its simple. Barca are in line to win the treble this season. Has any of their supporters boasted about it?

Any of the players? No.

Fact the players only speak about it now cos it is becoming a reality and when they do speak about it, its always in a manner that is very humble and polite.

Now compare that to the United camp. Who starts shouting TREBLE TREBLE TREBLE before the DAMN season even starts. It works on my nerves. It is made out as if United are the only club in the world that can win a TREBLE.

And for heavens sake, when you guys got word that 5 trophies = a stupid word like Quintuple. That is all you ever heard come from the Man camp.

Even Ferguson rubbished the quintuiple talk cos even he knew that their is only one achievment in world football and that is the TREBLE!

What do i have to be jealous? As it stands, my club has more silverware than yours. So what must i be jealous about?

You make a very weak arguement. Good to see dbecks back, even he has more of a point than you.
 
No one ever said the other clubs couldn't talk of them winning a treble?

So what if United supporters yell TREBLE every season. Just a bit of ranting to get the players going.

As far as I can see the Treble/Quintiple were started by the press NOT the players or Coaches, I haven't read any news that a team held a press conference stating they will win the Treble at the start of the season.

They were in the position to win it... besides what's with a word that would grate you so much?

Fans will always expect more and nothing less hence why they are fans... Teams will always push to win more, it's the drive to keep you motivated. Like your job would you be happy to earn R10k a month or R20k for the rest of your life? what happens when you hit 20k? would you mind earning 30k?

Don't encourage the haters. They do not use rational argument. Hearts consumed by jealousy. It is quite sad really.

I vote for a 2-2 draw tonight btw. That will be the league all but wrapped up.

you mixing two arguements into one. All I said was

1. United players and coach did not mention anything about winning a treble or quintiple - only the fans wished for it when the word quintple was mentioned - AF squashed the rumours about it.
My post about the Treble was mentioned last season by 1 player - Fletcher :x

2. Not every United supporter chanted Treble, Treble, Treble at the beginning of the season - I certainly didn't, BUT I certainly wish they can win it again, same goes to the CL league and the League

they won it last season of course they gotta show it off... it's like Barca will show off their La Liga title if they win it, last season was last season I didn't see AF saying they will win the Treble at the start of the season.

United never won the TREBLE last season.

The last time they won it was in 99!

Ever since 99, they have been singing TREBLE TREBLE TREBLE every year.

I thought you were a United supporter, but you dont know your team never won the TREBLE last season?
 
I'm confused now - I know they didn't win THE Treble, but did they win A Treble (of sorts)?

What was the third cup - can't for the life of me recall...
 
good result from last night but the finishing has been really poor...should've come off with a 5-6 goal win.

spurs this weekend. will be a tough one.

Excellent result and ditto on the finishing.

Spurs will be tough but it would help of we played our regular 4-4-2 with genuine wingers and two strikers

Much better performance from Untied - best in a few months perhaps. Should have been more like 8-0. Some of those offsides were questionable at best.

But hey, a clean sheet again as well.
