Time will not be given to a man who takes a title winning squad and makes them mid-table.

Maybe Moyes has the tactical mind, but doesn't have the players to action his game plan. From what I know (which is not much), he is a more counter attacking/defensive type manager and majority of his big name players are attacking players.

All the players did last night was hoof the ball forward to RvP. Not very tactical if you ask me.

Moyes doesn't know the meaning of the word "tactic."

Yet his time at Everton was filled with tactically excellent performances.

It seems more that he has been coerced into attempting to play a certain way to appease someone. He was never this hopeless at Everton.

The players, too, need to get themselves checked out. They may or may not respect Moyes and his methods, but he is the coach and they should play at their best for the club. Sure, it doesn't help to have League 2 calibre players such as Cleverly in the squad...

Rodgers had a terrible first 6 months, but at least we could see the system and philosophy he was working towards.

I don't see that with David Moyes.

Meaning what?

Definitely. No desire whatsoever.

Will you guys still be singing the same tune if Utd makes Champions League and beats Olympiacos and actually progresses to the next round. Yes it is far fetched, but just curious.

I think they have a good chance of coming back from 2 - 0 at OT. After that, would depend on who they draw.

That's my main gripe with Moyes.

He's not trying to implement a style of play, a philosophy, a system etc. He literally sends out 11 players and tells them to kick a ball around. Well that's what it looks like anyways.

I also feel his negative, defeatist attitude is rubbing off on the players. Look how he slumped down in his chair after Olympiakos' second goal.

After every goal United concedes, the players look completely deflated. United were never like that under Fergie.

jamie jackson @JamieJackson___

On Januzaj Moyes said he'd decided to play Cleverley so left him out...

Moyes:"I decided last week I would play Cleverley and it was a time to bring [Adnan] in and out at right moments so I chose not to use him"

He has clearly lost the fscking plot.

Just remember that Moyes has never won a trophy at this level. Enough said.

I think Fergie was high when he wanted Moyes to take over.... no other reasoning.

I think that perhaps he was told by the board / Fergie / not sure who that there is a certain way that United should play, which does not really suit his style. Doesn't excuse some of his tactics, though. It just seems that he is extremely unsure of how to set the team up and get the best out of them.

I don't buy that, especially with the purchase of Mata.

Not sure what style the board would want him to play. I don't remeber Ferguson playing any particular style.

The only style I remember Fergie playing was winning. Whatever it required on the day. Didn't matter if it was a defensive performance, counter attack, long ball, attacking down the middel or attacking down the flanks. His tactics was normally what was required to win with the players he had available to him.

Ferguson basically won a league title on the defensive performance of Vidic,Rio and van der Sar that one season. Last season he won the title with RVP scoring for fun.

Unless the board decided for some reason now that Moyes needs to play a "prettier" (for lack of better word) brand of football and then they appointed the wrong manager.

You got that part right.

That would be quite funny seeing as we're playing the ugliest, most dreary football for a long time.

I've never associated pretty football with Moyes.

Moyes has a terrible mindset, and he had the same mindset at Everton. He would rather not lose a game, than try and win it. SAF was the opposite, would rather go for the win, than just ensure a draw. It worked most of the time.

Cleverly and Valencia are so poor yet they keep getting selected, before we replace those 5 guys we need to acquire a competent manager.

And Young! But I agree with the sentiment and from a point of view of what players Moyes will attract and whether I trust him to do the rebuilding job...

This.

What do the people think of Solskjaer as manager? Chances of him coming to United?
