Please take off Carrick and bring on Fellaini so it can be 11 v 11

Damn. More glimpses of the Old United again.

Fantastic game. Defence was surprisingly decent tonight...

Rooney is worth his new contract - so glad we do what it takes to him

Decent defense, yes...but that MF needs to filled - Carrick to sit and Fellaini to come in with anybody else

We won (!), but that means that there is now a greater chance of Moyes staying... I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The United way is not admitting before the Liverpool game to the entire world that they are favourites.

Even Brendan Rodgers knows this:

As I said, small time manager with a small time attitude and trail of thought.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, Everton were always a hard team to beat under Moyes.

Is this what we want United to become? A **** team too play against who plays rather not to lose than to go out and win?

That was United under Fergie, always going for the win no matter what.

Imagine if Moyes was in charge in 99 when we were playing against Bayern. We would never have won that game.

This is why the players are not on his side, due to his defeatist attitude.

Do you think Mourinho cared that his Chelsea side set a record for least goals scored and most 1-0 victories by an English champion or was he rather more focused on his shiny new trophy? A win is a win. United won some terribly ugly games in Fergie's time, grinding out dour results if need be.

If Moyes does what he done at Everton and goes on a 4-month unbeaten run (extended to nearly a full calendar year by Martinez) at home with a dozen 1-0 wins I won't care because I'll just see the 3-points and a return to Fortress Old Trafford.

United are not Chelsea. Playing for an ugly win once in a while is a huge difference compared to making it your standard style of play.

Ross Barkley on Moyes and Martinez:

Leon Osman. Leighton Baines. Phil Jagielka. All turned into standout professionals and English internationals by Moyes and his coaching staff.

For all his current woes, Marouane Fellaini was a very, very effective player at Everton and he was developed by Moyes' and his staff.

Steven Pienaar flourished under Moyes, regressed at Spurs. Returned to Moyes and was back to his cult-hero status.

What is Barkley's point?

At the end of the day the result is more important than your highlight real. A pulsating 4-1 win is the same result as a 1-0 win. You don't get bonus points.

I'd love to see Liverpool-style goal scoring going on, but I'd also gladly take a 12-month unbeaten run at home loaded with 1-0 and 2-0 scorelines.

Tru dat. I'd rather have five 1-0 wins than one 5-0 with nothing decent after. Well played United. Hopefully you get someone "easy" in the draw.

No hope, no optimism in this thread. Tsk Tsk Tsk

*sniff* *sniff* what's that I smell? Hope? Optimism? :D

Well done! Now remember... next Tuesday, when playing those boys in blue, take ALL THREE points Ok?

Thanks!
