Will be interesting to see how the Man City side evolves (or self-destructs) under Mancini and if they can actually break into the big four.

i think Mancini can do a good job.

But i think regardless of all the signings , Aston Villa really have a strong side and also a strong bench.

Thanks fishfly... I don't rate Carrick at all! We bought him for his passing skills, but the only people he passes to are on the opposition team! We were looking to sign Sol Campbell for the rest of the season, but Sir Alex has denied it. Vidic hasn't had the best of seasons so far, but he is still the best! Wes Brown has been playing extremely well, as well as Patrice Evra. Let's just hope that our defensive problems improve, and soon.

Hard to be at your best when you are out injured for long stretches of the season eh...

guess what!! Mame Diouf will be coming to us in January!!!!!

he got his work permit and is available for selection :D:D
this guy is 22 and is an out an out striker...he plays at molde now on loan because of the work permit situation.

Should be interesting. If we can manage four fit defenders of any kind I think we will be pretty strong either way.

Excellent! 2 points behind Chelsea and we yet to hit our post Christmas form..

Well Done ref on another useless display!

Another bad performance but still 3 goals and 3 points. Just hope Rooney is never injured. Without him, we are not very good at all :o

Hope we destroy Wigan on Wed.

Everyone else looks poo, especially Chelsea. Man are they gonna miss Drogba.

OH NOES!

United's Van der Sar given compassionate leave

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has been given indefinite compassionate leave after his wife suffered a brain haemorrhage.

The 39-year-old's wife collapsed last Wednesday and he will not be expected to return to Manchester until she has made a recovery.

C'mon dude, you know better than to believe goal.com

Even if this bat**** crazy story was true:

1. Fergie, with the amount of defensive problems he has been having, would never want to sell the best defender of last season.
2. If RM wanted him badly enough, they would have to make an insanely high offer, one which SAF would have no choice but to accept, probably in the 40m + zone.
3. This in turn would buy us cover in the defence dept, not to mention help bring in talent in other positions. He's after Chiellini, apparently.

Chiellini will never leave Juventus, cos italians really loath leaving Serie A as this is a International Career limiting move.
