It's official:

Reds agree Kagawa transfer

Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed terms with both Borussia Dortmund and Shinji Kagawa for his transfer to the Club.

The deal is subject only to the player medical and obtaining a UK work permit. These conditions are anticipated to be completed by the end of June.

Yeah it's nice to have one good signing before the Euros. I hope Modric and Baines have a terrible Euro so their prices drop haha. Have a good Euro and they'll become even more unaffordable.

As for Martinez, apparently City are dead set on signing him. He's a great player and I'd love him at United, but I doubt it.

carrick has his days and fletcher is having injuries

so just one more good midfiled buy would be good and one left back cover ....and if berba leaves ...one more striker ...

why united dont bid for hoilett from blackburn is a mystery since he is a "free" ...i think he is very talented for a winger and for that fee why not

Arsenal had to send both Ryo & Campell on loan due to work permit issues. AFAIK it needs to be special young talent (not sure how that is judged) or a established international.

A young Japanese talent that no-one has heard of, Wenger's missed his chance...

EDIT: He is bloody brilliant isn't he? A good addition to United and the EPL in general. Next season is going to be awesome!

I was talking more about when he moved to Germany, it seemed like the kind of signing that Wenger was renowned for.

Point 2: Yes, very much so. Spurs losing out makes that victory all the sweeter :) Particularly after the whole Modric fiasco :))

Established international according to Fifa is playing in 75% of country's games, apparently he hasn't played enough games for Japan or something, so it might be an issue. One of Arsenal's youngsters was granted a work permit because of "exceptional talent" so I think Kagawa could get special dispensation or something.

Welcome to the EPL, really looking forward to seeing him play!

over a two year period, though if he recently made his debut then he needs to be more than 75% over a year or so (dunno Kagawa's apps for Japan, but I'm sure he's established himself in the last year or so so I really don't see it being an issue).

He's been playing for Japan since 2008. Not bad when you consider he's 23.

Regularly? I'm sure he's been pretty regular in the last two years at least. Oh yeah, and that 75% rule is only valid for matches where he was eligible to be called up... ie: if he was injured, then it doesn't count.
