I can't keep up with likes of code & kyubi, watching them run / duck /weave / jump all over the show so effortlessly is tiring! Code moves so damn fast, sometimes I sit back and think wtf just happened here

Takes a second or two to realize who what and when!
It's a combination of perks, good aim, fast reflexes (aided by high sense), good sound, game configuration and map knowledge, all tuned to fit my playing style - Aggressive -
Perks:
Sleight of Hand Pro - Half the reload time is like having unlimited ammo and faster aim-down-sight improves accuracy.
Lightweight Pro - Move faster and quick aim after sprinting. Why an aggressive player will choose this perk is self-evident.
Ninja Pro - Invisible to heartbeat sensors, which is pretty lame as I probably move too fast for it to be of any advantage to the person with a sensor attached, but Pro makes you move silently and that is key to sound and awareness.
I play with the ACR and though I haven’t compared it much with different weapons, it seems to be by far the best and quite overpowered. I may stand corrected.
Sound:
Good earphones are a must and speakers will never be enough. When players move around near your position, their footsteps almost pinpoint their location, aided by the type of surface they’re on, i.e. gravel, water, snow, iron walkways etc. Reloading, planting claymores, priming and throwing nades, all help as location indicators. Ninja Pro amplifies these sounds in the absence of you own footsteps, when either walking or sprinting. I almost want to add that it’s the most important perk. I currently use a Logitech headset as the mic on my Sennheiser set is broken. Between the two, I would say that Sennheiser > Logitech for sound quality and of course it is more expensive.
Aim:
Practice, practice and some more practice is the only way to improve your aim. The only real advice I can give is to not mess around with your mouse sensitivity too much. Get it to where it is as comfortable as possible and stick with it. When you change it, it resets all the muscle memory gained up to that point and you have to get used to it all over again. My mouse sense is very high (about 12 cm for a 360° turn) and I’ve played first person shooters in this fashion for a decade. For me, it works well with both reflex shots and hit scanning.
Map knowledge:
The more you play the map the better your map knowledge will become. Map knowledge is a very basic concept pertaining to spawn points, points of contact with enemies in relation to both your own spawn and theirs, known camping spots and the routes leading to them. It is also very important in getting ahead of the rest.
Game configuration:
Once I’ve acquainted myself with all the fancy graphics and effects, appreciating the effort of the programmers for a couple of days, I start concentrating on gameplay. That which will provide the long term enjoyment derived from playing the game. Since IW has almost totally blocked editing the config file and disabled the console, I have to make do with the ingame settings. My config is: Everything set to as low as possible and a resolution of 800 x 600 (on a 22” Samsung!). With these settings I have increased the visibility of opponents very significantly.
I played COD4 on Igame’s servers for about 2 years prior to the release of MW2, but my real experience is from the 4 years (2k4 - 2k8) I spent in the UK. I played UT2K4, 1on1, against the very best in the world on a daily basis. I got really good and getting better was a driving force for me. I even got to win a few times.
My approach to COD4 and MW2 was social in nature. Instead of straining to better myself every second, I just want to enjoy fragging for a couple of hours after work. No more loading maps in single player and learning it until I can run and dodge backwards as good as I can do it running forward. Map knowledge is gained every time I join a lobby and start fragging.
I’ve shared this rather lengthy post with you to make this online entity called, code, as transparent as possible, for I understand that there
are hackers out there. Not being able to record matches is a huge inhibition when trying to stamp them out from the community and for that we have only IW to blame. They are in fact assisting hackers in this fashion. Hackers are, however, a huge minority and I’ve encountered a total of 2 in the months since starting with MW2.
The way I approach them is not to shout out HAX and throw my toys out. You can NEVER be sure someone is hacking while ingame. Also he might NOT be hacking and you would do his reputation damage among the other players in the game. Too many variables with latency and so on make for the possibility of many dodgy things happening.
Come the next map, when you’re on his team, don’t select a class. This gives you about 3 minutes to spectate them through the first person, before getting kicked for inactivity. Get your friends in on it to assist and confirm among each other. Only once you’re really, really sure, should you confront the culprit. Spreading doubt about players, who probably play legally, does nothing to help the community. On the contrary, it assists in making it a cesspool.
Wall-hacking and aim-botting is very easy to spot. Trigger-botting not so easy, but still doable, though I don’t know whether it exists in MW2. Probably.
Anyway, that’s me and at least now we have some form of communicating MW2 matters. It was sorely lacking and I’m happy I’ve stumbled upon this thread.
