Official Rugby World Cup 2015 Thread

Sounds like you'll be watching the world cup purely for the grass porn...

Yeah, I'm always overcome with joy when entering a massive, modern concrete stadium in the middle of the city! You confronted by this huge patch of lush green grass on which gladiators are preparing to do battle!

England named their team for the opening match on Friday. Potent one...

The timezones seems to be a bit confusing for some websites... Sport24, SuperSport and the official RWC website all have different times...

From what I gather the local time is 20:00 for the opening game, and they're currently an hour behind us, so it's 21:00 here.

The MyGaming Superbru pool is now a superpool and won't allow for default picks. So if you miss your picks then you don't get points. Just a heads up to those who joined.

Another Welsh player ruled out of RWC. As if they weren't in arguably the toughest pool in RWC history, they are now running out of players.

Wales suffered a further injury blow ahead of the World Cup on Monday with Eli Walker ruled out just days after he was rushed into the side as a replacement.

The injury-prone wing has suffered a hamstring injury and his place has been taken by back-rower Ross Moriarty, World Cup organisers said in a press release.

Moriarty, 21 and who was born in England, is the son of former Wales international Paul and the nephew of a former Wales captain Richard Moriarty.

Walker was added to the squad last week after full-back Leigh Halfpenny was forced to pull out after sustaining knee ligament damage during Wales' recent 23-19 win over Italy in a World Cup warm-up match.

First-choice scrumhalf Rhys Webb was injured in the same game, earning a call-up for veteran Mike Phillips.

And to think I picked them in the MyBB rugby pool game :(

Starting to really feel sorry for them. One of the more likeable countries in the world cup - in fact, if we don't win it, I'd probably prefer them. But that clearly isn't gonna happen.

The team is unchanged, good. I’m still going with the islanders on this one. John McKee has made it clear that they will be targeting England and Wales. I’m not expecting an upset, but I do think that they stand a good chance. Since both teams are pushing their best on the line, Australia must be happy.

Bloody tough game first up. The Pacific Island teams play a bruising game.

I like the way how Nadolo put it,

“I know people are writing us off but what have we got to lose? Nothing,” Nadolo told the Daily Mail.

“They’re a very good side and one of the tournament favourites, but we’re just going to go out there and have fun. We could shock the world.
