Again, the anti-Heyneke sentiment.

The first SA coach to win Super rugby, and he did that 5 years after taking over the worst Bulls side in history and building them up from nothing.

I'll take my chances on him over a provincialistic Lions supporter, thanks. You're calling him an idiot because he hasn't picked any Lions.

Surely you are just trolling now?

O wait... you the guy that said the Bulls are the first side to win SupeRugby, if we exclude the Super 10. That's like saying the Pumas beat the Lions on the weekend, if you ignore the points the Lions scored :p

So… The Springbok World Cup selectors, anyone know who the other two selectors was with Heyneke?

Why do you like Pollard more?

Because he's got more X-Factor, and he's got more potential in his pinkie than most flyhalves in SA have in their whole body.

But he is clearly not performing at the level he did last year. Every player struggles in their second year. Plus Lambie is more "solid" and experienced, and his kicking game is more suited to the northern hemisphere, he's the clear choice for the world cup.

But Pollard is only 21, his game will evolve. People seem to forget most players aren't even considered for national selection at that age, never mind being man of the match against the All Blacks, in fact already when he was 20.

You don't have to like it. Luckily your opinion doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things - neither does mine, for that matter. I'll leave that to the people who know what they're doing.

You are basing quite a lot of what you have to say about Pollard off of 1 game he had last year. And yes, he's 21... unexperienced... sure he has potential, but where is it? He needs game time, a couple of seasons to mature. No doubt he'll end up as a good, maybe even one of the best, fly halfs we'll see... but his time is not now...

If he proves me wrong and runs, kicks and tackles us to victory... I'll happily eat humble pie

Think it is still the same.

Ian McIntosh and Peter Jooste

Cool thanks, you are correct.

Cape Town - The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has extended Ian McIntosh's tenure as Springbok selector until the end of the 2015 season.

...

The Springbok selection committee consists of McIntosh, Peter Jooste (convenor) and Bok coach Heyneke Meyer.

I thought that McIntosh was done as a Springbok selector.

Which other flyhalf are you backing to achieve that alone?

As I said, it'd be better at this stage to back Lambie.

Also, I distinctly remember Frans Steyn missing a kick to lose the Sharks the 2007 Super Rugby title - if it was kicked, it would've been an 8 point margin with less than 5 minutes to go - and then also missing a kick for touch in the same game after time was up, which also would've closed out the game.

A few months later, he played a massively positive role in us winning the world cup, including a 50 metre kick vs. England in the final. He was 20 back then.

People can make a turnaround quite quickly.

Oh yeah.

The All Blacks squad has been named for the World Cup.

Lol.

Realistically nobody should come near to beating that side.

But then again, I remember 1995, 1999 and 2007.

...and sidelined Dagg. Messam made it to the squad. I see that Naholo will be unavailable until the third game.

At this late stage? No one. Only Lambie has been part of the setup, so I can only realistically back him.

The selectors took a chance bringing in Pollard so early in his career, based off of how he performed at Junior Bok level. The experiment has failed. It's too late to change anything now.

People are disappointed with the world cup squad, I feel it's expected. Any big change to an already established squad will probably end in tears.

People can make a turnaround quite quickly? So you compare Steyns 2 missed kicks in one game, with a game after game after game failure of Pollard? Again I say, the man has massive potential. Unfortuntely, potential can't score any tries.

It's becoming clear now. You just hate Pollard. Thanks for basically admitting it.

I'll like one guy better, you'll like someone else better, and the next guy will prefer Catrakillis. It's all moot, since we don't get to pick the team.
