Bit of necromancy, but I just put in a new battery into my N7000, and the battery life has gone from 18hrs to 3days (18hrs on 4.0.4 and 3days on 4.1.2 stock - see my earlier posts).

I've updated to Lollipop and my battery-life is way better now as well. I wonder what your new battery with Lollipop will be like. Annyone else on LL?

Yeah going to flash the new Nightowl 7.1 alpha. Running 6.1 and it's much better than touchwizz. Using it much more since it's such a enjoyable experience so I cannot talk about battery life lol.

It is way better than TW, and better than CM 11. For now I'm happy with 6.1, I'm going to wait for one that has full recovery before I flash again. I must say, my phone has never been this stable or smooth; quite odd when you think about it being Alpha and all.

I have my eye on the i717 Galaxy Note on Amazon. I have the galaxy tab 2 and a galaxy s2 but think I should sell those and just get this Note.

Why? There are much better, cheaper and newer devices to be had then this.

I like Samsung and want to try a Note, however my mind is not made up yet if I will go this route.

Does the s-pen work? Not much point in changing ROMs for me without a fully functional s-pen.

Spen only works fully natively on touch with roms. However, GD S-Pen controls will give you all the same gesture based functions, normal functions work, like tap and long press and such.
