Official Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000) Thread

OC or standard?

Personally running Kingdroid with Hyrdacore 4.3b std and just put on OC and couldnt really see the improvement when playing games so changed back to standard. OC eats battery too much..

Running the OC version 3.0.15_hydraCore_v4.3 ... yeah, the OC chows battery on the JB Rom, i'll run a day or two with it on RR V11, then try the standard...

I believe LRT is in testing, but the files are available for download on Sammobile.... Only XFA for now... I have no idea what to do with the files, hence I didn't download them....

Just quickly dropping in, I have flashed back to HydraCore STD, the OC kernel is just plain horrible for battery life...

Any word on how long till a strong JB ROM?

Are there CM10 mod nightlies for the Note? I'd like to test it

As a matter of interest, does the pen work with the custom ROMs?
TW roms yes. AOKP/CM roms no.

The official release date is November. Since the S3 got it earlier maybe we will get lucky too. The current CM10 roms all suffer from memory leaks.

My opinion right now on JB (CM10) is nice to try, for a day or two. But not yet ready for a longterm runner....

Very good to know. It seems like, unfortunately, it would still be a while before a great JB ROM comes on. I think I'll try this RocketROM...thanks everyone for posting about your experiences, it's really neat

Also on Kernels: I went back to the Standard HydraCore Kernel, battery life is much better than the OC version... Waaaaaaaay better!

I presume it does in RocketRom, I never use the pen :o .... I have all the default apps, S Note, S Memo ... etc
I'm actually finding the pen more and more useful for scribbling quick notes - much easier with quick memo and handwriting than getting a note book type app and keyboard up and running.

I find it also quite useful in calls, u just hold the button and dbl tab the screen and poof a notes open for a quick scribble...
I was quite surprised at how much I use the pen, and the handwriting recognition is also pretty dam spiffy, use it for client meetings to take notes, much easier than taking a sheet of paper.
