Official Super Rugby 2014 Thread

Dunno if you guys saw this. Toulouse player Florian Fritz took a bloody nasty shot to the head from a Saffer's knee. After going off the coach made him go back on again within 10 minutes. Something about him not being able to play the next week if he doesn't.

Pretty disgusting behaviour by the coach. He even said: "I have been knocked out, played on and was fine; as you can see, I am still standing here,". Luckily he didn't take any contact or get the ball after coming back on and stayed off after half time.

Gotta say, SANZAR has been very good in this regard. Concussions are taken very seriously. Look at Kieran Read, for example - hasn't played for 5 weeks because they don't want to compromise his health.

blues will be a much tougher challenge for the Sharks than those pig-faced crusaders. If the Sharks can play with 15 for the best part of the game, they should be able to take it - if momentum counts for anything. Also, The Curse of The Bye is no stranger to the blues.

waretards should bury rebels. But who cares? The Silence of the Lamblovers is all I care about. May that silence come sooner rather than later.

BULLS also need to be wary of the curse but strangely they haven't suffered nearly as much as others. Plus, the brumbies are on the back foot. BULLS should be able to pull it off. Hell, they need to.

highlanders are great at upsetting and they will do so against the crapsaders. In fact, I won't be that upset at all.

Chiefs will bury hurricünts.

Sorry LIONS, but the force will not be with you. They'll be against you and probably beat you.

Which brings us to the poser: the only things the stormers have going for them is:
(a) Home-ground advantage
(b) Last week's resurgence

The cheetahs, of course, also have only a few things going for them:
(a) Last week's resurgence
(c) Giant-slaying pride.

So, which to pick? Maybe I will wait till saturday to call this one.

Can always count on Greg to color up my Thursdays rugby picks :D

Sharks
Rebels
Bulls
Highlanders
Chiefs
Cheetahs
Force

bring on the weekend!

Fulcrum: I like the way your comments have changed.

There is a "valid" reason why you Forumnites are chasing me on the SuperBru log :p

One thing is certain in this game, the Blues will need to revive their spirit at 40min or else the Sharks will be pushing 3-4 tries.
