He was there, he plays off-season in the Top League.
 
I would be careful of the Australian Super Rugby teams, especially of the Waratahs and Brumbies. The English warmed them up.
 
So the Lions have a very real chance of ending top of the log now. Three weeks to go and they play the sharks this weekend. A team that may very easily be without Lambie again. After that tough game they play the kings and the Jaguares.

There two closest rivals the Chiefs and Crusaders play each other this Friday morning. If the Chiefs get a win and the Lions also win against the sharks then they will be tied on the top of the log with points difference being the decider. ( assuming close games )

While Lions have a relatively easy last two weeks the Chiefs have to go to Suncorp and then Forsyth Barr while the Crusaders host the Rebels and then they go to Wellington.

So it is set to be an interesting last three weeks of the regular season. If the Lions finish top then we may very easily have a local champ again. Something which would be tremendous.

Derick Minnie is fit so we will unleash him on the Sharks. If not Minnie then Booysen, Brink or Ackermann. Whiteley is a loss but lions squad is not too bad this year.

This to add to RG Snyman, Nyakane, Gelant, Basson, Stegmann, etc. The Bulls are going to have a hard time... At least they play the Sunwolves back at home and the lacklustre Cheetahs. The Jaguares will be upping the tempo to prove themselves since the French crushed them on home soil.

Derick Minnie has been released from GLRU and will be leaving for EU (what's left of it), by the end of the week.

It will most probably be Booysen. I do not think Brink or Ackermann plays 8th man. Booysen did play there for a game or so.

Amy Perrett is poised to become the first woman assistant referee in Super Rugby history when the Australian officiates in the game between Melbourne Rebels and South Africa’s Stormers on Saturday.

“I am really proud to be given this honour this weekend and I certainly hope this opens the door for more women to officiate the top level across rugby,” the 25-year-old said in a statement released by Super Rugby on Wednesday.

“I am just focused on doing my job to the best of my ability and will be joining a fantastic team of Sanzaar referees right across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina who referee Super Rugby week in and week out.”

Zebre is getting a 100% ever game player and in 3 year Italy will have an awesome openside flank.
2019 Rugby World Cup 20 September – 2 November just in time to qualify for Italy.

The first is the change in rules by the Japanese clubs to allow an extra foreign player to be contracted by clubs as long as he has not represented his country in the past, and can potentially qualify for Japan in the future. This has seen a number of players – like the Bulls’ forwards, Grant Hattingh and Lappies Labuschagne, saying goodbye to Super Rugby and they will now play solely in the Japanese league, not returning to South Africa like a number of players in the past.

The list below includes a number of players – including Springboks Elton Jantjies, Warren Whiteley and Jaco Kriel – who will all head to Japan during the Currie Cup but will return to South Africa in the new year to take up their posts with the Super Rugby sides as well.

But the Japanese clubs are increasingly looking for players who don’t want to play Super Rugby, and will make it worth their while to do so.

The list includes 15 current or former Springbok players and others, like Nic Groom and Louis Schreuder, who have both been in Springbok squads but haven’t played a test yet.

With the local transfer season opening on 1 July, a number of other local moves are expected in the coming weeks, but it is interesting to note the French clubs haven’t bought as much as in the past as the cash flow among the clubs there has been low.

The SA Rugby annual listed over 280 players playing abroad at the end of 2015, and while the list may have fluctuated somewhat with player retirements and some moving back to South Africa, the 45 players below have all signed in recent months while another 16 South African players have completed moves to new clubs ahead of the new European season, to start in August.

Candidates for next Sunwolves head coach:

Penny is really good, but he is not as magic as Deans. I would like to see Stonehouse coach in Super Rugby. Joseph should stick to the Brave Blossoms and advise through the structure accordingly, it is a big responsibility. Deans, Joseph and Brown will really take Japan to a new level. I am happy with the list.
 
I'm really happy Joe Peterson is going to be playing terribly somewhere else.

I guess most of those guys just want a good salary while the legs still have some rugby in them. Good luck to them.
 
What a great game between the Chiefs and the Crusaders. Not the most beautiful of rugby due to conditions, but still a superb play. Well done Chiefs!

Most definitely the 2 top teams to beat. I do however have a gut feeling that one of two Australian teams will be upping their game through the playoffs. My best bet is on the Brumbies.

The Waratahs and Brumbies are very good at disrupting enterprising play.
 
Eddie Jones visited the Sunwolves captain’s run. Praised Hammett and had good things to say about the players. Then like always he had the 'best' to say about the bad JRFU management.

You need business men running the business side of things and professional rugby men running the rugby side. The JRFU is an amateur organization and that is its challenge moving forward."

While the Sunwolves should be a separate team with their own head coach it should be a development side for the national team.
