Official Super Rugby 2016 Thread

Bonus point for being within 7. Will be super bummed if the Cheetahs don't pull this off. Put in a great effort against Argentina, and competed like for like in broken play. Francois Venter has really impressed, cool, calm and collected!

The Cheetahs we all know and love.

Throws away a moerse lead and then almost goes and gets it in the end... But just almost.

I think the Cheetahs beat themselves, but the Jaguares are going to be a side to watch.

Indeed. Thank goodness SuperRugby is back.

Agreed, but the season is just too long. Only team to disappoint so far are the Hurricanes (didn't get to see that game but I presume the Brumbies did a hell of a lot of spoiling).

It was an entertaining game but both teams looked a bit poor. Hopefully it's early season jitters.

Enjoyed the game, happy for the Argies, sad for my team, but if they could only score the bulk of their points when the Argies were men short then they need to step up...

Yeah, good game but Cheetahs played their best rugby against 13. No ways they'd have been in it without those cards. Couple of intercepts too. Cheetahs pushed hard but the better team won on the day. Strong side this Jagaures, basically Argentina and we know how well they did in the RWC. They also put close to 50 on the board in a warm up against Lions. Thought Cheetahs boxed well above their weight tonight. They look well coached though but no stars. Very green XV, but loads of potential. We know how they going to fade the further into this competition we get. No depth.

Hey hey, watchit! That was a B team Lions!

Was it?

I suspected it might have been. Didn't pay too much attention to the team sheet and it wasn't televised either. Followed a bit on twitter and the Lions got hammered quite badly, scoring a few consolation tries towards the end of the game to add some respectability to it.

Not sure what to expect from the Lions this season...If they can build on last season and improve by about 10%, they could be a force but will they? They played some amazing rugby towards the back end of last seasons Super 16.

Anyway, today's games have been great value for money!! Back to back rugby for the next 9 months gents!! Tough being a professional spectator... :p

This is how I feel about the start of the rugby season...

Hopefully I will have a better day today with my Superbru. Lions just needs to start with a big win.
