Official Super Rugby 2016 Thread

On the one side I am quite sour that my believed to be champs again got themselves plundered by the Lions, but then again it is a great win by an SA team showing a really good result.

To quite some match stats history,

http://www.citizen.co.za/1020056/vodacom-super-rugby-teams-look-to-build-momentum/

The Emirates Lions and Chiefs have faced each other eight times with the Chiefs winning six of those matches and losing two, with a score average score of 34-27.

The Chiefs have won all of their matches against the Emirates Lions in Hamilton.

The teams hold the record as scoring the most points ever in a single Vodacom Super Rugby match (137 points) in Johannesburg. The score was 72-65 to the Chiefs.

They always had it close...

I mean generally. Props like Redelinghuys, Dreyer and Van Rensburg have been some of the best scrummagers in world rugby and haven't received the recognition they deserve on the national stage, imo.

Agreed.

For me this Lions unit works well as just that, a unit. Individually I'm not convinced.

Ignored? Smith and Marx are newborns re Super rugby?

Hope you taped it? What a brilliant game it was?!! Oh wait, I forgot, you only watch European rugby these days!! :p

I seriously don't watch it anymore. Very stoked the Lions won though.

Though the Bulls has picked up their game it is nothing special... Maybe the next 40min will show a more determined Rebels team to put up some competition, already thrown 2 tries where one should had been a try. Nonetheless, the Bulls is winning at this stage.
