Yes, really.

Could you explain further for those not in the know? EP and the Kings seem to have quite a lot of commonality in branding.. The EP website has Southern Kings news articles front and centre.

Who then?

That's probably the only 2 jerseys they could afford.

Were they at least able to pay the parking ticket at the shopping center that they parked at for that pic?

Taking the photograph with the toilets in the background is pretty sad too....

SARU owns the Southern Kings and operate it via a company called NewCo. Their offices are in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd owns EP Rugby and EP Kings. Their offices are on the outskirts of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Some of the EP officials had to resign from EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd when NewCo offered them positions. Typically the CEO, Charl Crous, and some (not all) of the admin staff.

Some (not all) of the EP rugby players were offered contracts by NewCo. Prior to acceptance they had to legally terminate their contracts with EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd, which was easy as EP were in breach of contract by not paying them for a few months.

The Watsons are still with EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd and have nothing to do with NewCo or the Southern Kings.

Thanks for explaining to those of us not actually in the inner circles.

Any info behind the jersey? Looks like a Harlequins knock-off.
Which Harlequins?

The jersey was locally designed and manufactured by BLK in Cape Town. They are also the supplier to The Sharks this year.

Some other teams:

As to the design details... will find out later.
