Official Super Rugby 2016 Thread

Phew Hurricanes gave a great display. Helped they shored up their scrums and lineouts in the second half. Crusaders may be in a bit of trouble next week if some of their injury concerns don't go away.

Is it not amazing how the refs pick up the obstructive runners when two NZ sides play against each other? But never when they play other countries' sides....

The disallowed Highlanders try is an example... if that was against any other team the ref would not have blinked an eye and awarded the try.

Grief, the quality of NZ rugby is something else. This Highlanders vs. Chiefs game is an absolute cracker so far. Possibly the best 30 minutes of rugby so far this season.

That skill by Naholo...

So if my maths are correct we (Lions) just need 1 point to go top of the log again. So we can get away with a bonus point loss.

I hope that the Chiefs will recover in time for the playoffs as many players are unlikely to return from injury. Messam picking up the wrist injury may be a big blow to their reinforcements and limited depth. I am excited for the Highlanders, hard work and a triumph for Jamie Joseph's final coaching season for the Highlanders. Dave Rennie still has another season with the Chiefs. Trophy cabinets to stock...

Correct. We'll end up on 53 with the 'Canes but on points difference it's currently 198 for the Lions plays 144 for the NZ blokes.

If we get 1 point we play the Sharks in the quarters. If we don't we play the Crusaders.

Yep. Also, if we beat the Saaaks, we play a semi at home, win that and it's a Joburg final.

EDIT: Oh, and we'll be getting that point at a minimum. In fact, I think we'll be taking four. ;)

It's going to be tough with our B team against the Jaguares but I'm still hoping for the best.
