Official Super Rugby Thread 2012

F ucking hell...

What a comeback from the Highlanders??!!!! Bloody epic!!

Cheetahs game disintegrated from Goosens try onwards!!! What should have been the nail in the coffin for the Highlanders was the catalyst that brought them back from the dead!!!

What a painful last 30 minutes of rugby from the Cheetahs?? Seriously, feeling physically ill from that last 30!!

From the sublime to the ridiculous. No need to even mention the missed penalties, so I wont... :p

And the worst part of this is now I've got to sit through an episode of Greys Anatomy with the mrs!!!! :o

See plenty people still going on about the red card. Yes, it may have made a difference if the Cheetahs played against 14 men for the rest of the game!

but come on! Any decent team will never screw up a 21 point lead like that!

I'm pissed off!

I missed the card incident, fill me in?

Highlanders player hit Cheetahs player with the fist twice! And it was proper fist punches. Not open handed slaps or anything.

Referee saw nothing but assistant referees put out their flags and both of them confirmed multiple punches and recommended a straight red.

Referee said thanks and they left. He then called over the player and gave him a yellow card!

Player will be banned! No doubt!

Wow, once again the refs are not up to standard. I wonder if this blatant ineptitude will ever end

Faaaaarkk!!!

Johan Goosen ruled out for four months with that shoulder injury!

Yip. Incredibly sad but he is going nowhere. Injury prone and it's a massive pity. It's going to deprive SA and the world a prodigious talent.

No more Juan Smith?

In April 2012 Smith announced that he would be taking an indefinite break from rugby due to the ongoing battle with his Achilles injury.[1] He had had four operations on the injury but was concerned that the recovery was taking longer than he had hoped. "The right thing to do now is to give my injury sufficient time to heal 100%," Smith said in an interview with the Volksblad newspaper.[1]

Jip. If he does come back it will probably only next season.

I love the guy! There is no other player that plays as consistently good as he does(did)!

No fancy stuff, no flair. Just pure hard basic rugby!

Exactly :) I watched the 2010 tri nations yesterday and I must say he and Pierre Spies are really good, they might not be playmakers like Aplon or SBW, but in international games defense is so good that playmakers end up looking average and the guys doing the hard work really strut their stuff.
