Official Super Rugby Thread 2012

Even when you do not pick them, the Blues still find a way to mess up my SB game plan :(

Yeah was actually waiting for them to win because I did not pick them....

All and all I think I have "lost" 5 or six points on the blues games.

Looking like this is going to be see-saw stuff. Following it on SS live updates.

Cool, the bulls have the bonus point try and can now play % rugby and take the win.

God forbid. If they go into a defensive mode like they did against the Brumbies they could bloody end up losing this game. Bulls usually pack a killer instinct of note and we've only seen it once this season, against an under strength Reds team. In seasons gone by if the Bulls had a team like the Brumbies on the ropes, as they did recently as Loftus, they would have driven home the advantage and smashed them by 20 points or more. I don't recall the last time I've seen a Bulls outfit in such control, capitulate so tamely towards the last 20 minutes of a game. They worry me this season and I just wonder what sort of work ethic Frans has instilled in them. They play 60 minutes cause they train to play for 60 minutes.

Anyway, Rebels not to be under estimated, must be put away comfortably tonight...

Amazing tackle on Basson there.

The high and spear tackle combo.

More amazing is selling it as only a yellow card to the ref. Nigel Owens would have given a red, yellow, white and a penalty try!!!

The sharks must be smiling because if the bulls play like this for the rest of the tour they will not go home with too many points.

True but it is going to mess up my SB predictions  :p

Score?

I predicted The Bulls to take this one quite easily. If not, then I blame Flip...

Poor performance from the Bulls, not impressed, mid field defense nowhere, very little venom and bite in the forward play, weren't hunting as a pack and got pushed around and bullied for most of the 2nd half.

Anyway a win is a win and with a bonus point to boot but one just gets the impression that this is a team playing in 2nd gear this season. Not sure they have another gear but at the moment it's not looking like it. The Sharks may not be winning as much but they bring their game most Saturdays and are a lot more abrasive and physical and committed then the Bulls currently...

Wynand and JJ nowhere today and Basson a spectator on the wing. Every now and then they chuck up a bone for the dog to chase, wtf is that?? No imagination and totally incapable of manufacturing moves where they bring Basson into the game??!?!!! Surely Roussouw Pieter can do better??

Kirschner and his half as$ed goose step is becoming tiresome. The only player he is confusing with his goosestep is himself!!!

Flip no discipline but he brings some much needed needle to a strangely docile Bulls pack, Pierre still playing like a man with a blood clot hanging over his head, Dean trying hard and also putting it a huge amount of work despite the pack playing around him. CJ trying hard and playing well but a yard too slow at this level, Juandre doing enough but needs to do more... Hell man, lads need to step it up a bit...

I'm not sold on The Sharks being more committed or bringing more of their game than The Bulls. They've been equally schit this year so far...

41 -35 for the bulls.

I want to see the game before I comment, but it sounds like the defence was missing and the handeling was also not great.

Personally I hope the Bulls learn from this game and start feeling the heat as their other overseas games are not going to be as easy.

I'd love to argue with you and call you names and get an infraction and all sorts of things. However, I could only follow updates (left my drifta at home AGAIN!) and will need to see the game but from the updates and the bottom line, I fear your criticism of the Bulls may be spot on. They had better catch a wake up soon!

Being a Sharks supporter sucks this year. Not even the team believes in themselves enough to run with the ball. Mindless kicking and zero creativity.

Doesn't help if they cough up easy tries to the opposition :(
