I watched the game. While the sub(stitute) ref had an indifferent game, the Sharks did NOT play well. Too many basic errors and poor decision making and an off day by Kockott did nothing to help their own cause and the Cheetahs capitalised on this.

/but, yes, the ref was poor!

@ Lancelot

Would you say the Sharks deserved to win with a performance like that?

All the balls lost in the tackle?
Poor passes not going to hand?
Kockott missing 5 kicks at goal?
1 or 2 poor line-outs?
Receiving kick-offs not taken cleanly?

Please if anyone wants to question me all I ask is you read my posts properly....

I was not actually watching this game but following online commentary

But the fact you ask those questions after what I was referring to does make one wonder whether the refs also make a call on whether they feel a team" deserves to win". Surely that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual outcome?

And that list of yours does not exactly make me want to throw my hands in the air and say that yes they deserved to lose.

I am, however, not at all surprised with the Sharks start this season. There has been way too much pre season crap for things to be running smoothly. You have senior players talking of leaving, others having left, new ones arriving with clouds hanging over them as to whether they can play, back up flyhalfs retiring just before the first match etc etc etc. Hardly ideal!

Why the hell are you getting all excited and defensive? Did I ask something that upset you?

Whether you were watching the game or listening on the radio. Makes no difference.
Did the commentary on the radio not point out the knocks, passes, missed kicks, etc?

I don't care about the referee(s).

I'LL REPEAT AGAIN!!!

I think the emotion you were looking for is frustration rather than excitement or being upset!

Chiefs and Lions are having a try fest.

Stephan Donald is really impressive.

it's not the first time i hear Hugh Bladen make mistakes in commentating on a rugby game and for a professional thats very bad.

Yip. He does get it wrong quite often.
Brosnihan and Bladen always get the names wrong.

Interesting news is that Danny Cipriani will be released from the London Wasps team at the end of the season. He will join up with the Melbourne Rebels for next year's Super 15.

i find it hard to believe that they can name a guy running around on the field but when a guy is standing and just about to kick a ball they get it wrong. TWAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fail to see any blame.... rereading my post all I see is questions being asked. The ref changes the penalty count flips 180 degrees. Why? As stated I did not see it on TV but the online commentary made it pretty apparent that something changed!
I would say that the ref changed. Its easy. Neither the Sharks nor the cheetahs have embraced the new laws. It is apprant in their games. The sharks played piss poor rugby and they would've lost quite badly against the lions if the played the lions tonight.

Why you always first try to find problems with the referees is beyond me! Your first post was about the referees. You just don't have the ability to point out tha mistakes your team makes or admit that they played a poor game of rugby.

Another thing. The Cheetahs had the same referees as the Sharks did, yet, they managed to get the rise above it and play better rugby. They Sharks just doesn't cut it, but you can't admit it.

I will just never understand your logic!

To make it worse, they are reading the names of either a screen next to them or from a piece of paper each commentator got.

Anyways. The Lions Chiefs game was just mad! Neither team really playd according to the law and to quote Marius it really became rediculous at a stage. Yes there were many tries, but poor defence and poor decision making by a lot of player on the field.

The Lions would thump the Sharks if the have to play against each other now. I think the Sharks is the worst team we got at the moment.

The crazy thing is that the lions were 40 points down with 20 minutes to go (65 - 25). They then scored 12 points followed quickly by 7 from the chiefs and then the next 28 was to the lions. Another interesting thing, at one point, the chiefs scored 48 unanswered points, 21 of which were passes from the lions to the chiefs. Amazing game.

Well that happens when the bloody soccer takes over. Its the same case with Loftus. They had to remove the rugby pitch and plant new gras so that the pitch is FIFA approved but you can't play rugby on a soccer pitch!

I just wish this freakin soccer can just come and go! I'm so gatfol of this crap!

They would've abviously fixed the pitch this week but I saw the pitch at Loftus lastweekend and it was in a shocking condition. Rugby will be blamed again even if they haven't played there in 6 months, but the real reason is the soccer. The areas were the goals are are without grass. There were big patches without any grass. This soccer at rugby stadiums should stop!
