So many Breezers supporters so vocal about the Sharks being a pushover match ...... this new week finds them all with nothing to say eh.

It's been said before, the only true true rugby fans here are Bulls and Sharks

Ok. I missed the game, but I just watched the KykWeer today. I thought Marius Jonker did really well in his handling of the game. I never saw the truck and trailer and in some cases the Crusaders should have gotten yellow cards. In one other case the Bulls shouldn't have gotten a card. The last try, when I saw it in real time, I could see no problems, and in slomo, I couldn't see problems either.

I really can't understand you guys...

I think you'll find that this is the reason you can't understand us....

I'm also finding it interesting that all of a sudden the number of Stormers supporters being reflected on the poll are increasing dramatically. Where were they at the beginning of the season?

Anyone seen this news yet?

Johannesburg – The Golden Lions have earmarked 2007 World Cup winners Butch James and Jean de Villiers as potential signings.

Both players are apparently considering joining the union and they are not the only ones that the Lions are targeting.

While the union does not want to confirm or deny the negotiations, GLRU president Kevin de Klerk said that they were speaking to sponsors that can help lure high-profile players.

Springbok captain John Smit apparently spoke to Lions director of coaching Dick Muir earlier this year about a possible joint role of player and forwards coach. There is also speculation linking Smit’s Sharks team-mates Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis to the union.

It is believed that their contracts state that both players have to be accommodated.

Springbok No 8 Joe van Niekerk is also being linked to the union.

De Klerk said that the Lions would have to strengthen their playing and coaching ranks to be able to compete with the Super 14 heavyweights.

“We can’t name anyone, but we are at an advanced stage of negotiations. Some of the players will already be available for the Currie Cup and others at the end of the year.”

Muir regularly worked with De Villiers as Springbok backline coach, while he has close ties with James from his Sharks days.

De Villiers has had a successful spell with Munster in Ireland, while James is playing well for Bath in England.

James last week criticised the poor manner in which the Sharks allegedly negotiated to get him back to South Africa.

He has nevertheless previously said that he will not easily play for any other team than the Sharks.

De Villiers has decided not to extend his contract with Munster and will return to South Africa shortly. He recently said that it would be difficult to play for any other teams than Western Province and the Stormers.

However, if the Lions make a very good offer, De Villiers may well play for them as soon as the Currie Cup.

Talk about a career ending move if they did, imho. But Butch has never been shy to state that it is about the money - hence why the Sharks couldn't get him back. Two players will not solve The Lions' issues at all though. And I doubt either would be willing to go unless the team received a major revamp in all departments. Including the coaching one...

We're looking for the next big name signing (to replace Nagelevuki). How much did Butch want again? Can he play wing?

Go have a look in the bulls thread as I posted some still shots from the game that clearly shows it was not a foward pass. As I also asked why is not one of the sharks supporters moaning about McCaw not getting a yellow after intentionally knocking the ball out of Fouries' hands while McCaw was still on the ground?

Some people just hate the bulls, but hay thats nothing new and imo any team that can play crap, play with 14 men for 20 mins and win against the crusaders who were pretty on song... is a team worth supporting.

I don't agree. The lions need a good flyhalf and some depth in all positions and tada a new team is born. For proof go have a look at teams who have won the WC... all have 2 things in common, an on form flyhalf and depth in most positions.

Ps thats how the bulls started their dominant decade or so of rugby ;)

Why are Sharks supporters still posting in here???

Wait for the 2011 thread guys.
Hopefully you'll get better refs.

Sorry to interrupt but is this the Stormer's best performance in the S14?

Two players turned the Stormers around ;)

The most improved aspect of the Stormers game, if their forwards. They really are gelling together nicely now. The forwards are literally everywhere & winning the ball back & getting it out to the backline time & time again.

The Stormers are definitely playing like champs at the moment & they deserve to be in the finals.

So can I conclude that the Sharks can rightly be called the Super 14 champions of 2010 as we beat this team quite comprehensively? ;)

Wow there are some deluded Bulls fans in this thread. The pass was forward. It was a complete 'home town' decision. I could bet you your bottom Rand that if it was against the Bulls, there'd be much more reaction in this thread and threatening to 'bliksem' the ref. There is a significant body of opinion that says the pass did go forward - grainy pictures from Youtube videos doesn't really count as evidence. The only evidence I see that it was not forward are from, surprise surprise, the Bulls supporters. They even did a frame by frame analysis on the Supersport forum...some people really need to get a life :p

The Stormers weren't the worst Super 14 team in the history of the competition - not by a long shot. The Lions have far more issues than two players can resolve and I'm quite sure Butch and Jean know this.

BTW @ Devill - I disagree with your entire post...:p

I usually use this website to read the opinions on decisions that were made that were controversial : http://www.sareferees.co.za/news/ref_news/2406700.htm

In my experience they are usually quite fair but even in the coverage of this incident on that website they are unable to hide the home town bias. How is this faux pas :

In fact, he had shown his good faith generally in the last 10 minutes. He has sent Gerhard van den Heever to the win bin for a dangerous tackle - leading Victor Matfield to mention that he had not done so in the earlier case of Ben Franks.

The subconscious view of the writer appears apparent from that sentence! No need to guess what his finding regarding the incident was....

ROFL :D I hear spec savers have a special on glasses. Get yourself a pair. You link a photo from an angle and I show you pictures that clearly shows the line and from there you can see that maku was infront of the crusaders player.

And then you go and get a piece from Boshoff WHAHAHAHAHAHA:D

Well naturally. Every side needs a right side (me) and a wrong side (you) :p:D

PS a ref does not bin two of your players and neglects to bin the opposing teams players when they deserve yellow cards if he is being bias in your favour ;)

Every ARGUMENT has three sides! Yours, his and the truth. And the truth is, that was a beautiful try :)
