Official Thread: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)

I can't send mms's on Darky's rom 9.2. Yesterday was the first time I tried in a while.
 
Hmm, okay I just used *123*1# to reinstall my mms settings. It was still there, but didn't work. Don't really know when it broke only my third mms that i send since October.
 
Hey guys, I'm picking up my phone today. Just wanted to ask what CFM you would recommend to put on the phone.

Today my battery died. When i turned the phone back on, all my homescreens had been erased and it looked how it does when you turn your device on for the very first time - google search bar at top and 6 other standard icons. Also, the apps in the application list has been arranged in alphabetical order like what happens after you update the device etc.

Any idea why this would happen and if there is a way to get my homescreens back?? (without me having to recreate them obviously!)
 
No launcher or anything. Its completely stock and original. Updated to froyo officially when it came out whenever that was like 2 months ago. But other than that i have not fiddled with any software. It also deleted all my contacts but kept everything else like messages,watsapp conversations and all my media etc.

Im 100% sure i didnt factory reset. The phone was next to me the whole time and kept beeping for battery low and eventually shut down the way it always does when the battery dies.

Anyways iv just restored my contacts and began setting up my homescreens again-its not too much of a big deal, just very odd and im worried it may happen again.

I just installed docs v 11 JPK rom and gingerbread keyboard keeps force closing.. anyone know what i can do to fix it or was it a waste of 200mb?

Kind of considering doiwnloading MIUI 1.41 - gingerbread 2.3.3, looks good!

but back to Darky's 9.3 for now.
 
Right I finally bit the bullet and flashed a couple of weeks ago 1st darky 9.3 then 9.5. But now I've installed asphalt twice but it keeps disappearing, 1st time I thought I was imagining things 2nd time I know for sure as I still have a shortcut for it. Has this happened to any one else I'm a bit bummed as I was on like lvl 14.

get titanium backup, and back it up!! then if it dissappears restore it.

similar thing happened to me on Darky 9.3, seems like it takes a while to see the apps stored on SD Card. cant remember how i got it to see it, think i went to manage apps and then it loads them.

Just downloaded Darky's 9.5, going to flash that tonight, and i also downloaded MIUI 2.3.3 RC3 :) Looks awesome so i'll give that a shot tonight too!
 
I was wrong about the saved games when reinstalling it they were still there

Think I might have had a similar experience. Took the time to just do a factory reset and reinstall only the apps I end up using most. Feels a bit nippier now.
 
Hi

Does anyone know where I can download the latest [Samsung] Firmware for the i9000 (2.2 I think)? I've tried to urgrade through Kies and it starts but then crashes everytime. I would like to just download the firmware and do it manually instead because Kies is Kuk. =)

I'm on a Cell C contract so not sure if I need a specific version of the latest firmware?

Is there a stock Froyo SA Vodacom firmware which is able to flash in CWM?
