I'm on 2.1 JM2 (original official rom from vodacom).
Anyone else running into an issue where you lose all signal to the network?

It happens to me once every few days and only a restart restores the connection.

Had this happened to me twice before. Didn't have to restart the phone though - just enabled and disabled flight mode and it sorted out the problem.

Never had that problem before. :-/. Sounds a bit dodge to me. I was running JM2 (thats what the phone came with) for quite a while before i decided to flash something newer on.

That happened to me once shortly after flashing the JPK Froyo firmware (unofficial leak). Restarted the phone and it hasn't happened since.
 
I just got my phone and loving it.
Some questions for the "veterans" has any flashed their phones from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ and which one is the best?
Do I really need a screen protector, i saw a youtube video the other day where it showed that the screen is scratch resistant.

The GPS issue has been sorted then, good to know.
I was Endomondo the other day, lord I was getting 2min/km speeds which is crazy (the best runners hover around 3min/km and I'm slow as a snail).
The GPS issue can be a party pooper at times, I'm glad to hear that it will be sorted out when I upgrade to Mr Froyo (or is it Mrs Froyo).

I've been using JPK for about a week and a bit, no major issues, running fine with no lag fix + zeam launcher. Seems to be the best 2.2 beta available. GPS still sucks. If you are planning on flashing read the threads on xda twice to save yourself some heartache.

Some claim that the gorilla glass works, others have scratches, YMMV.

Are you on cellc or virgin? then switch the phone to gsm mode only. i had that issue, it tries to connect to the 3g network which is running but not enabled for normal sims

I used to claim Gorilla glass works, now I have scratches :cry:

Nothing major, they are hard to see. The plastic cover seems to get most of the scratches though.

WHat the hell do you guys do ? throw it against stuff ? i even do gym with my phone in my poacket, no scratches at all.

Same here. Have a small scratch at the top. smaller than a hair. You can only see it when the screen is perfectly clean and its not turned on.

Hold it in the sun or shine a light on it with the screen off. You might be surprised.

The only things I can think of that might have scratched it are wiping the screen on my shirt, keeping it in my pocket (nothing else in the same pocket), or... my fingers? I'm stumped. The scratches are virtually invisible though. Not like the clearly visible scratches that appeared on my Nokia 5800 after a few months (crappy resistive touchscreen with a plastic layer in front).
So I'm not going to let them worry me.

There is a tiny scratch/chip just above my back button, that I can actually feel if i try. That one worries me a little, and I just don't understand how it got there.

This is all minor stuff though, can't worry about this. Can't expect something you use to look brand new forever. And it does look brand new unless you look very closely anyway.
 
speaking about covers and etc, anyone tried the zagg invisibleshield yet? any impressions? I see theres one for the i9000 for R199.

looked at it with a torch, in the sun at every angle, looks the same as when i got it...
 
Just flashed a JM8 again. Going to give the Voodoo lagfix a try. The RyanZA has given me good results so far but want to try the others also.
