My tilt is pretty perfect. Maybe the app doesn't support it. There's also an option in the settings menu to calibrate your accelerometer ....not sure if that's only froyo

I've done a couple tests on *#0*# and the sensor tests indicate that it's all good. Might be my imagination or badly written apps :D

Downside of an open App market I suppose - not everything is vetted.

I don't want to to any trickery yet...my is still so new to me and want to love it gently, LoL. Seriously though I will look at doing something mid to end next month if Froyo is not released by then.
 
Guys i flashed Froyo and it CWM i used the factory reset and format function.

Now I am unable to view files in my external SD card. But the card shows space used.

The other weird thing is that if i connect to pc it shows all the data on there and if I open Winamp on my phone it willl play the music files.

But gallery does not find any pictures and AstroFile shows that the directory is empty.

WTF!?
 
MTN - Auto time error

I'm runnning JPO and use MTN and this morning my time suddenly jumped 2 hours back.
My galaxy's time is set to Automatic.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm also on mtn, and had the same thing this morning (running Froyo, Doc_Kalpik rom) my phone was setup to "Use network-provided values" and my timezone was set to GMT. I've changed it to to no longer use the network provided values now!

I called them and the service rep said that it is impossible for your phone to get it from their network. What an idiot. I used Harare in the mean time, how come there is no Pretoria / Johannesburg?

Sounds like flashing went wrong. Did you follow the proper steps?

1. Make sure 3 button mode works
2. Flash jm8 with repartition and 512 pit
3. Flash jpo without repartition and 813 pit

If not follow these steps and you should be ok. Also back up your efs folder

3 button mode works.I flashed the doc JMO rom using CWM so it didnt need a pit file.
 
Is it mounted? Use Astro and check if this folder is mounted: /sdcard/external_sd

do a factory reset... you will loose your data so back it up
 
Another thing is how do i reinstall swype?

I downloaded the link and ran the update in CWM Recevoery but still no option to nuse it?

That's why I'm so scared to flash my baby! With my luck everything that could go wrong, will! I'll just patiently wait for the upgrade. Anyway, I was one of the lucky ones and got a perfect one. No lags, etc!
 
Is there any way to get a protective cover for this phone? like a rubberish one? Incase I would drop my phone..
Preferably order online, south african websites
 
Ok think my phone bricked:( After the factory reset it wont go past the startup black screen...

Although i can still get into the recovery mode is there anything i can run from there to get the phone up and running???
