Do you have any lagfixes installed now? Did you do a wipe after the update?

Wow, my Galaxy is now completely FUBAR! Before my battery would run until 11pm and still be strong when I plugged it in to charge at night. I upgraded to 2.2.1 yesterday. Now, the phone is extremely hot all the time and the battery was totally drained by 3pm (barely used it today cos it is so unstable). Basically almost anything I do results in an FC. It boots up and issues an FC. Kies says upgrade was 'successful.' Sometimes it would just sit on my desk today issuing FC's without even being used. How do I revert back to the Vodacom firmware that shipped with Vodacom's Galaxy S? will a hard reset revert back to original firmware? If so, what is the procedure for a hard reset?

Is it a specific program that force close or random apps?

At bootup it was initially launcher pro. So I uninstalled launcher pro. Then it was something else, so I uninstalled that. Now its vlingo which will give an fc when the phone boots. Then during regular use I get fc's from just about all apps I run incl dolphin browser hd, tapatalk, and so on. Plus the battery life has reduced hugely I see. With the original vc fw it shipped with, hardly ever saw an fc and never knew why some complained about battery life. I've seen more fc's in the first 24 hrs since the upgrade than in the 7 months since getting it.

Maybe the more clever guys will know better, But imho the battery life will be impacted with all the FC. programs closing and restarting the whole time. You did the update via Kies?

Yep, via kies. My apps were still installed but mail accounts, contacts, call history, and the likes were all gone so had to re-sync. Lots of hanging now as well besides fc's. Have to exit apps and re-launch apps regularly.

All I can think of trying is to backup your your stuff, and apps if you have a lot and do a wipe. And to go back to original firmware, not sure if kies keeps a backup to restore . But hard reset will only give you a clean 2.2.1.

Got it working 100% no issues as yet 2.3.2 is really fast. Touchwiz lag problems have been sorted but some of the eye candy seems to be missing I presume this is still a beta release.

Just another guys opinion about the Gingerbread rom. But from other posts he seems quite knowledgeable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11736317&postcount=7

Thanks Daneshm90 for the Email.apk.

Regarding the uploaded apk files, they include both app and framework apk files, and with the Email.apk file provided by Daneshm90 all are complete and ready for download.

I'm not so exited about this firmware, it does not bring much and I think that in a few days we are going to hear a lot about it not being good especially regarding GPS and Kernel panic!.
It seems that Samsung did bind recovery to boot.bin, boot.bin does check recovery every boot, and if it's a 2e or a modified 3e then it will reinstall the original and the unmodified 3e, what I think is that the unmodified 3e is located in initramfs, so this needs to be removed or replaced.

The phone runs fine without flashing boot.bin that is included in the firmware, but that does give a screen corruption in every boot and GPS will not pick a signal.

My opinion is not to get so exited about this release and maybe not for the next release either..

If i do a clean wipe will it make it better?

Yes you will still be on froyo. Just as precautions, make sure that all lagfixes are disabled. Boot into recovery mode. wipe Cache, then wipe data factory reset. and then reboot

Thnks...
Do i have to unroot the device?
