going on 22 hours with 45% battery life remaining since my upgrade to 9.4. using phone as per normal..., calls, work emails, whatsapp, facebook....i have disabled auto syncs (facebook+work push emails) and using only 3G....

seems to be an improvement....anyone else?
 
Well I don't know how you guys get it done :confused:

I'm still on 8 to 10 hours.

No calls, just email, tweetdeck,tapatalk, music, light use of mxit, some gaming perhaps on constant HSPA though.

But my HSPA connection is always disabled until I use the phone or need it.

Yup.. JQ1...using auto task killer plus ultimate juice with juice defender...makes a huge difference...

Only finding Advanced Task Killer, not Auto though.

Could you perhaps give a link to the task killer you're using please?

That is awesome but I don't think I can get so much usage out of mine. Please keep us updated on your average time battery life. Tell me what app do you use to choose between 3G and HSPA?
 
I flash modems with CWM all the time, no issues.
Just be sure that the file is CWM compatible.

sorry dude...not auto task killer. App called Task Killer. free from the market. I highly suggest you try Ultimate Juice. I’ve customised my settings to run certain apps. This software has many cool battery saving features.

Also Titanium Backup Pro has a nifty feature whereby you can permanently disable / freeze unnecessary background services and applications....

No app. Type *#301279# from your dialer. I've disabled HSDPA and use only 3G. as mentioned in my earlier posts, when phone switches constantly between HSDPA and 3G, it chows battery life. Else you could switch off 3G entirely and use only edge to save extra battery life but I wont recommend this. Edge speeds are really cr@p...
 
Or get sgstools for other secret codes as well. Though switching off HSDPA is the only thing I do with it.

But I can't stand 3G speeds anymore.

Check out the following link for modems and more.

Most, if not all of those modems are CWM files.

Save the file to your SD card, reboot into recovery, use "install zip file from SD card." Scroll to the modem file and then select it. CWM does the rest.

Thanks. I have hopefully switched it off now. I will see how fast or slow 3G only is. Sadly I too don't have HSDPA coverage everywhere I go to just be able to use that. I it is an option in SGSTools.

well still feels very similar (9.5) gets a GPS lock faster than my garmin :P

have to see how it goes.

hi, just saw ur question.

the answer is, yes. as long as u have a working cwm, u can switch to another modem anytime u want with my solution
