That's another catch22 .... I think Frans being put at 15 has done his game wonders but I also think Stefan is playing some wicked fullback play atm. So ja :o
Terblanche is playing well but he has more years behind him than ahead. I think Steyn is the better choice at the moment and he is growing into the fullback role nicely.

Exactly, lets not forget F steyn is operating with no experience and yet doing very well. He needs game time, and greatness will be the result.

IMO this proves that you have to select combinations...
1. Sharks front row
2. Bulls second row + 8th man
3. Cheetahs flankers
4. Bulls halfbacks

This is a national team.

We won.

Celebrate!!!

The last time we achieved this feat was 33 years ago. Time to celebrate. :D

there is a huge difference between being a gloryhound and being too doff to pass when it's on or knocking it on constantly.
What? Did we watch the same game? Planetrugby.com rates him man of the match....

Man of the match: We can go on about Steyn, but again, this was a win built on hard work and physicality, with the epitome of the winning style being Juan Smith. An immense display.
What rugby player in the world haven't been "to doff to pass" at some stage? It happens to most from time to time.

No, I haven't forgotten at all. It was mentioned by myself earlier before being buried by Blixem's Morne chants. No need to rehash it. It was a forward effort that resulted in the try.

Great KICKING performance, yes.
Oh no you won't

A record number of points for any player in a Tri-Nations match, Steyn continues to show he belongs on the international stage. Mixes up his kicking options well and also comfortable feeding his backline good attacking ball. Thirty-one points in total - great work from the Bulls flyhalf. 10/10
Does everything required in a test match. In only his 5th ****ing game. His 5th!!!.

Get off the bloody "but he only kicks good lol" train, take of the blinkers as watch the rerun please.

It's rather amusing to see Lancealot trying to attack Morne Steyn even though he all scored all the points. I could have predicted this from last week, since Lancealot has a huge chip on his shoulder w.r.t Steyn. His infantile criticisms of him earlier on this thread shows how prejudiced he is against him. Morne Steyn has shown once and for all that he should be the 1st choice no. 10. He also kicked a great number of up-and-unders...

I am still awaiting some comment on his tackle stats. That means someone else on the field is having to do a lot more work.
What you mean a lot more work, he missed one tackle!!!! So someone else had one extra tackle to make, is that the work you referring to?

Do you think he may have saved the forwards from doing extra work with his long range touch finders and do you think the penalties he slotted was ample reward for all the hard work the forwards did up front in forcing the infringements?

You need to admit when you wrong and suggesting that Ruan deserves his position in the team ahead of Morne is wrong!!! If you think 6/14 is good enough to win at this level you are sadly mistaken. If you think we going to win more tests by hitting the uprights instead of in between the uprights you are sadly mistaken again.

Give credit where credit is due, admit and acknowledge that Ruan's goal kicking is not up to scratch and lets all move on...

Morne
Morne
Morne

Pienaar is out, must be out. There lance and meph booya. What a performance, kicking was just amazing and won us the game.

Anyone who now says morne should not play is just biased and silly if you ask me.

This morne ruan thing is settled for sure i think.

So just chuck a brilliant rugby player by the wayside because his kicking isn't up to scratch ....... wow.

Meph nobody is chucking him away, he will be a sub just like morne has been for a very long time now.

He must improve his game and take the position away like morne has done.

Why does ruan get automatic selection? Morne proved yesterday that having a great kicker can and will win games.

You play the best man for the job and the second best man sits and waits for his time. Morne has waited long enough and when given the chance he showed us he is just amazing.

Well you guys discard a player after only one game where he misses a few kicks so I suppose it makes sense that all of a sudden Morne is the man. Damn, we are lucky most of you are not selectors. After every Currie Cup game we would have new Springboks. In fact it would be filled with Griquas players at the moment!

Actually we use our heads and can see stuff like morne being better, if you happened to be a selector you would put all the sharkies in the team and ignore true talent :D

You really make yourself out to have the mental capacity of a 2-year-old . First of all, it has been numerous games where he has missed his kicks not just one game. Secondly, he is not getting any better at kicking despite getting coaching from Percy. If he can't improve (which he isn't), then he must be chucked out. Thirdly, he hardly played any Super 14 and yet somehow he was put into the starting line-up...that does smack of a bit of nepotism. Lastly, when Morne does get his chance to start, he scores all the points and yet he still aren't that satisfied - what more do you want?

I for one get nervous when our entire victory score is accrued by one player... that was not a big victory in my books.

And I get nervous when I read comments like this. Did you even watch the
game? This was by far the most impressive team performance I've seen in a long time by the Springboks. Who do you think put the pressure on NZ for Steyn to get the penalty kicks, open the gaps and give him space to work in?

Oh really..... You see comments like this make some of us not want to "admire" him. The try was created by the forwards. Anyone standing in that channel should/would have scored it.

So then a "play maker" would definitely have been a waste in that position if anyone could have scored the try and thus it would have been better to have someone who's kicking ability is better.

I don't think nepotism means what you think it does. Stay away from those big words.

What cracks me up is the fanaticism for Morne that Lance is accused of showing for Ruan ........ just accept that some people prefer Ruan as a player and some (albeit rabid) people prefer Morne and leave it at that. Calling someone whatever-under-the-sun and doing the exact same thing when it comes to your player of choice just makes you look the ass ;)

Mmm well how many games o you think we should give someone that is not on form and injured?

Read up. And how long do you need to see one player is on form and the other isn't? A whole S14? Another 5 tests? Come on wake the fsck up chap.

No one said pienaar is k@k but morne is in the form of his life, why play with an out of form pienaar? Even the sharks prefer an import over him atm...

No, lance is ignoring all the facts that are stated and just steam rolling along. Really be honest now who has been on form through the S14 and in the 5 tests he has played this year? His first 5 i might add.... What has he done wrong barring one missed tackle?

A win is a win and the boks are in the box seat...but the reality is that the AB's are probably playing worse than I have ever seen them and unlikely to be a factor in this series....lots of poor choices to put themselves under pressure and many mistakes when not even under pressure.

Interesting that the player 'ganged up upon' by regulators according to saffers ...i.e. Bakkies, took one minute to knee someone in the in goal after grounding...later was sin binned and later only avoided a red card when the linesman realised that the same player had already been binned (linesman changed his mind).

This will happen if a player is suspended, but his employers and followers tell him he did nothing wrong...i.e. the punishment has no effect.
Oh why is everyone against poor Bakkies just because of his 'reputation'?
