Great match today. I think the Bokke had it won with 20 minutes to go but Dan Carter turned it on in the last quarter of the game.

It was a very hard hitting game, but the Boks thoroughly deserve to win. It's amazing how people can change their attitudes towards PdV in one week.

Well, at least one of those other 2 teams can win something for a change next week.

Now that 3 of the trophies are in SA.
They can be happy we didn't play in the Bladdysoe's cop.

Two weeks :D

New Zealand, with Carter at flyhalf, still only seem to have one major attacking weapon and that is the cross kick to the touchline. Yes, when it comes off it is spectacular but it seems to be the only real bit of inspiration they can ever come up with.

Well, Carter's kicking game is brilliant but they also have Ma'a Nonu and I think he's a very explosive runner. He had a few handling errors today but he's key to the NZ attack.

Mostly only when the ref is on their side, did it not look as if the all blacks were off side in both that cross kicks? I was amazed as we got a penalty against us where the players was before the kicker agreed but it would not have effected the play or outcome of the game/play at the time.

Yeah, I agree he does often break the line but today he did seem to drop the ball every time he did so.

If our flyhalf kicked away possession whenever we were in the opposition 22 the way Carter does though, I think we'd be baying for his blood! ;) I suppose the fact that the cross kick comes off every so often let's him get away with doing it.

It was disturbing to see that absolutely NONE of our players were anywhere near Richie McCaw when they pulled of that crosskick try of theirs. We know that Carter loves those types of kicks, we should've been spread wider. The scoreline should've been more along the lines of the scores we got in the home matches here but hey, we won, that's all that counts.

I have to admit I did wonder how McCaw managed to be standing there waiting for the ball... but they conveniently never showed a decent replay which would allow the viewer to judge. They did, however, show multiple replays of Jacque Fourie's tackle on Nonu which had very little effect on the game! Typical kiwis

I suppose they are trying to soothe their own fanbase!

Yeah, I agree. But it is a catch 22. Defensive patterns are based on sliding defence nowadays so most players stay inside and then slide across to defend as the ball moves wide. The cross kick is used exactly for that reason, to unlock the sliding defence. I suppose it seems easy enough to have two guys standing outside to mark the two kiwi players standing on the touchline but then it would just create gaps on the inside.

That was the tackle where Nonu almost got up-ended, right? The Australasian broadcasters have a habit of focusing on incidents that favour their teams.

Speaking of tackles, Jon Smit's tackle was a ripper, I loved that moment of the game.

True that. But I would've expected the Boks to have done their homework on how to defend a situation like that.

Also I am sure the Kiwis know the Ref is concentrating on the game and WHICH down under linesman would call that incident. Where was Mcaw when that ball was kicked?

Hell I would be liking to read some Aussie/NZ blogs now but I am capped. I think I need a Axxess PrePay for some good laughs.

As I said, the bar where I watched the game was more in uproar than when we scored the intercept try.:D Well maybe close! :D

That's fine by me...

Anyone that refers to "us whites" on a public forum frequented by all races can quite happily ignore me as they are not the type I'd choose to converse with anyway.

As a former anti-apartheid activist I find this country as racially obsessed and oppressive as it ever was. 'nuff said -this is about the Tri-Nations.

Even more so today and exagerated/amplified with the fact that ANY innocent comment is dragged in/through the mud by some MyBB members.
