Pre-match facts and figures:

- For the first time since March 2012, VfL have won three successive league games. The only other teams in the Bundesliga to have won their last three games were Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern.

- For the first time since the second match day of the 2011/2012 season, the ‚Wolves‘ are amongst the top five in the Bundesliga, currently just one point off fourth placed Borussia Mönchengladbach.

- BVB re-wrote club history with the start they have made this season, having notched up 28 points from just eleven games. In the championship winning season 2010/2011, Borussia also had 28 points on their account, but with a goal-difference of 27:7. The current Dortmund goal-difference improves on that with 31:9.

- The ‚Wolves‘ have lost just one of their last ten home games in the Bundesliga (five wins, four draws).

- Robin Knoche has won an impressive 72,3% of his direct one-on-one challenges so far this season and thus boasts the top tackling rate of all players in the Bundesliga.
