Official Vox DSL feedback thread

I have to say... Been with Vox for 4 months on my 10Mb line... Thurs evening was the first time i had problems up till the point where i cudnt do anything i normally do. Skype was still fine, but video buffering and/or international was chaos. In that sense i cant really complain that them, as an ISP, is bad - but the lack of communication regarding an area wide outage was lacking to say the least.
Amen to that. Numerous issues at Axxess with me having to dig around to find out what's up (without decent comms) led me to Vox.

Communication and honesty is king.
That said, when I phoned in, the rep was quick to say there are issues, not like the time I was at Afrihost, also way back Iburst, where this was not admitted. So kudos to them on this, they're half way there. Crap happens, but with open communication and it not happening regularly, we will feel for you and not walk.

At any Vox staff reading this, please see this as positive criticism: A little status panel on your website will be seen as a positive step.

Up and down. Packet drops ... making like a yoyo.
Grrrrr!

I did not buy a service that I have to debug continuously to go finding out what's up.

And cancelled... Sorry Vox it seems my loyalty lied with Chris and not you guys.

Night time data sits at 200-225k/s ona 20mb line. Last time i saw 1,8mb/s was on the 1st of May.

10days later no change

I am getting massive packet loss too, several websites, especially overseas, the loading symbol never stops spinning as the browser is losing all the handshaking, downloads that do finish are generally corrupt and having to hit refresh several times to open a web site is not uncommon.

Vox down again. last 4 days nightmare on and off
Time to move

Mine is sorted. Silly me didn't think of basic trouble shooting. Simply turning router off and on again fixed it this eve.

This was after switching ISPs, between FNB, Afrihost and Vox. So I'm sorted...

Thanks..Ya I heard that as well but BBC is fine. Just the US based content that has an issue.

I switched to my Afrihost account and streamed with no issue whatsoever.

I'm giving it a week for testing but if it stays the same I will cancel VOX or maybe give my account to a family member..Have one of those R160 one's for 150GB..

Edit: Ironically I moved from afrihost to VOX because of the network screw up they had. :)

So I bitched about this and probably time to feedback on it.

I moved back to Afrihost and my streaming was better...Only 1 issue..almost all other protocols went for a ball. Can't have it all hey.

Moved back to VOX about 2 weeks ago. Streaming and the other protocols have gone back to normal. Getting 1mb and above on a 10mb line. Let's see how long this lasts.

Anyone else experiencing slow international HTTP downloads tonight in Cape Town?
Switched from Vox to WA and my ±200KBps went back up to the usual 1.1MBps.

I had packet loss / timeouts. Not sure if my local exchange or Vox.
