Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Trying to Register a new account but it doesn't work. After I enter my details I get redirected to the login section with no feedback.
 
Well VOX is on top form again tonight:

That is on a Line that is Synced at 12Mbs

Even email is sluggish.

I guess its back to the Telkom Account once more.
 
Just Loaded the Telkom account:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12476 kbps 1021 kbps
Line Attenuation 24 db 4 db
Noise Margin 18 db 6 db

It is not perfect but considerably better than VOX and proves that it is not the Line or exchange causing the issue.

Sorry didn't take one.
Priority task at hand was to grab some urgent files from a server in England so was testing international.

Well this is annoying, on a 100Mbps line. Been happening the last 2 evenings.
 
Having not been on Vox for a while now, all this bad speeds is making me wonder if I should even bother with switching back?

I am also monitoring the situation. I am getting throttled on Telkom (hitting the soft cap).
 
eish need to upgrade. but i reckon vox is going to the dogs a bit. didnt even get an invoice this month. seems its dying with the bolt-on.

time to shop around i guess.
 
Loving all the negative feedback, hopefully most leave so that I can in turn get even better performance :p

Out of all the ISPs I have been with Vox was by far the best. Hence the reason I am willing to take the plunge and see how things are.

I got one on March 24.
Performance has improved over the last week for me, it was only Github that was slow, but supposedly it was the same for my friend who's on another provider.

Was also getting 65Mbps a little bit later.
 
So I've not yet scanned through all the posts here so am posting then will go suss.

Having an issue w/ my Vox Fatpipe and a Guest account that Vox provided for testing whereby I get .2 megs down and .4 up. 2nd hop of a tracert times out too. But my 3 trial accounts to other ISPs (Axxess, WebAfri/Afrihost) are all running at full speed. After 1.5 hours of testing as Vox reckoned it was my issue, as the account runs full speed when they test their side, multiple speedtest screenshots and an AnyDesk session later, the issue was escalated to Services.

I'm very curious as to what this could be as I've not run into this before as the ping is fine; it looks/feels like I'm being throttled badly. The one other weird thing was when I ran a Speedtest to SAIX, it was dead, but full speed with my non-Vox trials.

EDIT: Going back 6 or so pages I'm starting to see a bit of a pattern, Vox speeds drop to a crawl for a few hours and then it's sommer ok again. Maybe it's Durban's turn today? haha


EDIT2: Oh.... now it's fine... wth... /tinfoil: it's following the 'pattern' lol

Not having any problems in CT, could you post any updates on this as you receive them? Sounds quite interesting.
 
I tried the vox account since Friday and it's blazing. Seems moving to Axxess was a bit of an over reaction.
 
Do not want to jinx myself but i see a massive difference from the first minute since using Vox again. Pages just loads faster and streaming is effortless
 
Question around Vox. Can you change the password of the portal and your DSL Account to your own one?

Can one view the portal on all browsers and do they have an Android App?
