I have never run out of VOX data because I can't stream with it reliably in the evening.
I pay for DSTV Now, Showmax and Netflix but still have to download a pirated copy during the day to be able to watch them in the evening.

Is there anyone else here that is getting routed through Joburg to Europe? I'm in C.T and its adding extra latency on my connection. I have called twice and sent an email to there Help channel with no reply. I also even had an agent tell me "I must hire a private IT guy" to set up my router so I can route through WACS. :wtf::wtf:

Also no, but I did ask Vox Support about why a route within Cape Town went from 5ms to 30ms and they replied, wait for it... "Your ISP doesn't handle your routing."

I think their support staff is reading routing as router and I'm happy to accept responsibility for the router in my home, but they have helped my mother with setting up/fixing her router far more than I have. So I'd love to know what they think an ISP is supposed to provide to a user. My account with Vox is still working well enough to be my primary account, but with the current lack of expertise there it's just a matter of time until one of their network components break and they claim that it's not their problem.

I have another isp that i use during the day, and only use my 100GB fatpipe during the evenings. I have already used 50 gigs of it, and we only on the 5th of the month

Fatpipe extremely slow

I am having major issues with my ADSL speed on a capped fatpipe account (100GB- 400GB promo). If I switch to my Webafrica or Axxess accounts there is a major difference in speed. I just sent an email to Vox and will see what reply they give. These are my speed test results, in this order: Vox, Webafrica, Axxess, Vox, Vox.

Im seeing similar speeds for my 40mb line. Though upload still 10mb/s.

And I came to Vox because Web Africa was having issues for too long.

Hard to find an ISP which actually offers what you pay for.

Vox have done the same as Afrihost did......

Offer innovative products.
make generous Price offers to build the client base.
Give Data incentives to keep existing clients.
Oversubscribe the network then............

Sell the Business at a fat proffit whilst user numbers are high, costs per user low and Support has not yet imploded.

I haven't measured any speeds but the DSTV Stream just stopped dead.
I had to switch to my Telkom account to finish watching my movie, and DSTV is still streaming perfectly.

I got a call from Vox. There's nothing wrong on their side, according to them I should report it to Telkom. They could not explain why the accounts from the other 2 ISP's were faster than Vox. In any case I ran a speed test now and it has improved but still not on par with my other accounts. Will monitor it and see how it goes.

Did anyone else's speed just come to a screeching halt, mine went from 38Mbps to 2Mbps.

Edit: Can't reach the Vox website either.

Nope, fine.

Based on posts, looks like they either have a routing issue or over subscribed in the north.

Sorry, didn't see the edit.
Can't access it either, timing out.

I don't have any of the other issues people were complaining about, my internet just went out for a moment and when it came back I was limited to 2Mbps and the Vox site doesn't work so it's definitely something else.

Vox back up for me.

Did VOX just go down in Cape Town?
All of my downloads stopped simultaneously 3 with network error one is still tying but estimated time jumped from 5 min to 3 hours.

There aren't any other routing issues in the western cape currently are there? been having issues lately regardless of account. Also seems like i'm not the only person experiencing it.

Just came back on its own and now the Line is happily maxed out on both Uploads and Downloads.
Could have been an exchange Glitch....

I am seeing Downloads max as 12 Mb/s and Uploads at 100KBs

I'm ok currently after a week or to of ups and downs, however whilst youtube and vimeo etc streams well, Netflix is not doing so well which is weird. I wonder why this has now suddenly started happening.

hi vvs :p

THIS

For the last week or 2 I've been having strange on and off speed loss during the evenings.
I'm hosting a game and playing with a friend and around 7pm he says that he's lagging in my game.
I check my teamspeak and I'm getting packet loss to our teamspeak server, which normally has no issues.
But at that same time he's also getting packet loss.

I've tried hosting on both WA and Vox, and he's on MWEB. (I'm in George, he's in PE)
Same can be seen in local games where your ping just shoots up from 60-> 100 and jumps around between the two, when nothing else is happening on your line.
