Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Is there currently an issue with VOX or any one else experiencing very high latencies?

Like even my 3rd hop has like 150ms latency and its varying a lot!

Saturday I had 130ms and 3mbps on my 40mbps line, on both Axxess and Vox. Did a port reset - no dice. In the end I had the router off for an hour, after that it was excellent.

Apparent outage or breakage at the exchange for me.
 
I'm having that weird issue again where YouTube is running line speed but downloads and even a speed test is 1/3 my line speed and I have double my ping.

My speedtests show same as you (both the Ookla and myBB android app) - 1/3 speed with nearly double latency.

My http, p2p and Play store updates are all over the place.

I don't know how YouTube is perfect, completely unaffected but everything else is.

I couldn't even get a Twitch stream to do 160P.

Tested a 1440p YT video now - full speed.
The last time this happened, I had all those issues on Terrarium and Kodi using Real-debrid.
Hope it isn't a repeat...

The last time it happened mine was fixed later that night/morning.
 
I would also like to know why the latency between CPT/STB -> JHB increased on VOX Fat Pipe fibre between 17:00 and 22:30. Like it was perfect at 23ms (like not even more than 1ms jitter) up until 17:00 and then gradually increased to 400ms.

The latency between my STB and CPT nodes was fine at 3ms, however to my Hetzner/VOX server in JHB it was very high.

So I got a response back from VOX support stating that they had an NLD (national long distance) failure between JHB and DBN and that they will inform me when its been resolved.

How can a Jhb DBN failure cut service to Cape Town?
If we are routed via Durban there is no wonder latency and congestion is high.
So much for redundant paths.
Only in SA do you need to provide your own Internet redundancy.
 
Yeah, lagging out hardcore and getting disconnects, sites barely load.

Hopefully they are on top of this >.<
