Official Web Africa thread

Anyone else also having a terrible web browsing experiencing on WA today?

I'm in Stellenbosch and the packet loss towards the DNS server is causing everything to load extremely slow. Its so bad that I have to use VOX to log in on WebAfrica's website to report a fault.

On WebAfrica, I had up to like 70% packet loss after hop 6 (mi-za-cpt-p8-te0-0-0-0.ip.isnet.net [168.209.6.13]) a couple of minutes ago - and its now down to 20%:
Code:
Target Name: 168.210.2.2
         IP: 168.210.2.2
  Date/Time: 8/4/2018 3:07:54 PM - 8/4/2018 3:17:54 PM

The strange thing is that I do not have packet loss on VOX, but the latencies are terrible right now:
Code:

Yes I'm in Cape Town and the experience is terrible. It's taking ages to buffer youtube videos and load other sites. FFS - this damn ISP has become so shyte over the last year or so.

Edit: it's like it cuts our regularly and sporadically for periods of time, then kicks back in. Clowns.

is it just me or does WebAfrica seem to have serious problems much more frequently than other major ISP's? Seems to be related to the fact that they use IS.

Yeah, same here.. had to switch over to a Vox account to be able do anything

Yup. I could not play my DGL CS:GO game with a 110ms ping on Billosoft server on WA account, so I also used a friend of mine's VOX account and it worked flawlessly.

Yip, IS european servers are very congested I get 500ms ping on european servers. They have no plans on fixing the issue anytime soon coming straight from IS themselves.

Streaming a mess again this evening.

EDIT: According to speedtest.net a measly 4.41mbps on my 10mbps line

WA really is like a lottery these days.

Been bad since 6pm in PE.

4mbps on Netflix and other streaming.

Hop over to Vox and it’s 15mbps 4K Netflix.

Kills me we pay for this crap.

Having high latencies all day today. Yesterday was only slightly better. Not very happy.

Internet usage tracker on the blink again. 12 hours behind and wrong data usage numbers.

Anyone else keep getting session disconnects? Been happening for about 3 days now, session will just randomly be over itself and drop.

Yeah I've seen the same thing. Its telling me my data usage between 12-5am is happening 4-7am meaning I'm running outta cap now cause its reporting it all wrong.
