oh sh*t... Time to run?

Well, this is gonna put a WHOLE lot of the population of the Western Cape out of work. And the coloured people have a huge history in the WC, they are not going to be happy about having to move. I reckon if this gets passed there will be some serious uproar...How are the ANC planning to transport all the people around the country to evenly distribute the demographics? It's retarded in every single way...But they are scared of the DA, so it will happen. And just like that another province will have its demise. sigh

Exactly, and knowing the coloured's, I wouldn't put it past them :P And a lot of WC whites would join in too myself included!

Well it seems unconstitutional to me. Solidarity says they're already drawing up a case to take to court should it be passed...

There's no law against it.

The problem though isn't that the ANC is doing this. The sad thing is that the whites and the coloureds are too oblivious or useless or preoccupied or weak to do anything about it.

I do not think it is a matter of evenly distributing people. As it says in the article, 29% of the population in the WC is black, so there is already enough black people to be employed. Or not?

(Please note I am not condoning the proposed amendments to the Employment Equity Act; I am just trying to understand how it will work ptactically)

Well to me it doesn't seem at all practical...And that's the issue. 29% needs to become 78 odd %. That's a HUGE increase and will not be possible with only the current number of black people in the WC. Then couple that with a huge decrease in coloureds and you end up with HUGE unemployment in the WC.
