LOTS. Doing this for a few years will give you a very good start in life. I kinda know this one dude that is a master dive instructor for the rigs and he is loaded.
 
Lots is a meaningless concept if you dont provide a frame of reference.

Ask a beggar at the traffic light and he will tell you I earn LOTS.

are we talking $200 000 a year or what?

Like all things it depends on the specific job, what job did you have in mind?
 
Hey gdiza,

Did your buddy get on an Oil Rig or did he give up the chase after a few months and is now working in a crappy 8-5 job like the rest of us fools?

I know the waiting lists on these rigs are huge especially if you want to get on as a "roustabout" ("the whatever"/casual). The first aid courses etc. is basic and everyone must have it.

You have to do, (you need a certified instituion, certificates are valid for 3 years)
-First Aid
-Basic & Andvanced Firefighting course
-Survival Swimming
-Underwater helicopter escape
