Yes, it's crazy. There was an issue at Olivedale exchange this morning that Telkom said was sorted, but obviously not. My line is dropping on average very 8 minutes.

Thats the same problem i am having, except telkom said there is nothing wrong with the exchange. My line does not de-synch at all thou. When i phoned telkom they said to me that they are having tiny amounts of traffic on the network, and they dont see a problem.

Who is your ISP ?

Also having the same problem in Douglasdale..............very frustrating........

What ever so called planned work they did on the exchange last night has screwed it up royally. Stanley does your line stay synced, and just your internet disconnect the whole time or does your line de-synch as-well? And i am trying to get hold of the adsl department now and i keep getting disconnected from the call centre IVR prompt piece of **** system.

Yes, I am also in Douglasdale and my ISP connection died just after 8 pm :( (So I'm using crappy cellphone connection now - R2 / MB )

I tried rebooting both my D-Link ADSL modem and Linksys router, and no luck. The D-Link says it is connected at 4096 kbps down / 512 kbps up. It has received ~ 20812544 total cells downstream but has sent 0 cells upsteam, according to the ADSL statistics page.

So it seems the problem is maybe related to sending data from the ADSL modem to the DSLAM?

Typical - just after I posted my connection came back up :erm:

I'll be keeping an eye on it...

AND..... It's gone!

Looks like it will be going up and down a lot tonight

While I am back up again... It's usually OpenWeb (in fact, Keoma replied to my support email and confirmed my account was working on his side). I've also tried an Axxess account, and if the connection is down, then neither will work :(

No, the line seems to stay connected at the standard 4096 kbps.

My connection to my ISP has now been up for ~ 27 min (touch wood).

Thing is, my ISP doesnt disconnect all stays connected, except i get:

then it comes back, for like 20mins, so im not entirely sure if there is perhaps packetloss on the DSLAM itself.

Hmm, when it goes down on my side the IP address on the router goes back to the default of 0.0.0.0 (i.e. No IP address assigned), and it says the connection is disconnected (and it keeps trying to re-connect).

I have noticed on previous days that I can quickly reset my ADSL modem (when my line speed drops below 4096 kbps), and if the connection on my router is up, it will stay connected. I think this is because the PPPOE connection to the ISP has a high enough time-out period so that it doesn't realise that the ADSL modem has quickly been reset :) [Another advantage of having a separate ADSL modem and router I suppose :P]

Thats all fine and good, but you are still disconnecting. I can see major disconneects throughout the day but also when i check when i have my request time outs, im still connected. So im at a loss guess best is to log the fault and see.

Yes. if I am still having problems with disconnects tomorrow morning, I will go and log a fault at the Telkom shop (seeing as I couldn't get through when I tried calling the 0800 375 375 number on my cellphone earlier to report a line fault [got through the menu to report a line fault, and then the call was dropped]).

call 10215 , but would be best to get through to ADSL tech themself.

Yea doesn't loose sync just drops connection.... then if you wait 2 mins and reload the page it loads...

Sync stays up, just no data coming through, and router reports a disconnect shortly after.
Tried with IS, Afrihost through IS and Axxess through SAIX accounts - all the same.
Still experiencing the problem this morning.

Only thing you can do is log the fault with telkom, and they will send out a tech to hopefully look at it. And im using my local only account and it seems the same for me aswell.
