well.. mine seems to be working... have been connected for 42 mins now \0/... finally
 
I dont get hopeful anymore. It is what it is, until I'm connected for more than 12hours.

Um... yeah dont dream:) i was staying connected for 5 hours, but within those 5 hours i had extreme amounts of packetloss, disconnects from online gaming etc.. Like i said ive had no desyncs at all, actually my line is 100%, i even bumped my profile back up to 4meg to put strain on it. And line is perfect.
 
Can anyone like myself and monz, confirm any sort of improvement? because we seem to be stable i havnt had any time outs *touch wood*
 
was having the same probs in north riding. haven't had any issues for the last few hours.

Well i highly doubt i did anything except upset a few telkom call centre agents, and make mtn happier with my 3 hour long cell phone calls:P
 
I am still having DSL disconnect / sync issues during the day btw 8am and 7pm'sh.

After hours DSL syncs perfectly at 4meg, but syncs every 20 minutes or so during those times above. Phone goes down together with the DSL.

3 days now and counting. No word from Telkom on my fault log. ****ers.

As i mentioned previously i think your fault is some what more specific to you, the issues the couple of people here where having dont extend to morning side. If your telephone line is having issues could be a possible fault on the trunk lines to the exchange, i had that last year, what are the US/DS margins like when it does sync?, if you notice they are pretty low on 4meg would most likely be a fault on the line itself, is there crackling?
 
Mine has been stable for the last hour or so

Mine is going on almost 2 hours now. Which is great, i would like to know what the problem was and if it has been correctly resolved this time around. The same crap happend with my line a few weeks ago, my us/ds margins where terrible, i couldnt stay synched, i logged a call, they told me they where back logged, 2 days later my lines 100% a technician comes to my house the next day and tell me i logged a false fault lol. I almost skinned them alive.
 
Im also fine now, spoke to a helpful telkom lady who said it was a minor problem with the phone lines that would force intermittent disconnects with the adsl, im so relieved because i can finally play online again and know its not my ps3.

lets hope its a long term fix for once...would be nice to go even 1 month without a single worry.

@ semaphore, Think you are right - there is some slight crackling on the phone line ... hope the rest of you come right soon !
 
I'm seeing a definite improvement - connection has been up for 15+ hours.
Have only actively used it for the last 40 minutes, and it seems back to normal.
Off course, no feedback from Telkom to indicate that a) A techie has been assigned, or b) The issue is resolved.

Weird, perhaps they need to-do work on douglas dale dslam or perhaps your problem is more sinister. I didnt have any disconnects since it came back up yesterday at 16:28.

Ive been having issues with my line since day one. High ping when playing online games, Telscum have a number of calls logged by me for the same thing but yet still the same problem.
Hopefully the port of the DSLAM fried and now i get a new one :)
But in the real world I woke up and my coffee was cold :(
