OMG I hate arrogant tanks

Cool :)

I am also done arguing about crap ...
And yes I completely agree with you that LFG / Pugging can open up your 5 man runs with the worst of the worst.

I had a hunter the other day that could hardly speak a word of English, and everytime he pulled aggro on mobs which arent suppose to be pulled... he just spammed "sory sory sory sory sory"... Even think his pet was on aggressive mode in Timed Culling of Strat run... you can imagine the poor tank...

aaaaah, we got the love going again. roflmeow

I hardly tank any randoms of late though and have been working on my dps spec quite a lot. (thats how much i despise tanking for pugs :wtf:) I have seen some horrible tanks, not only tanking wise, but geared up the strangest ways. The worst I have come accross was a warior tank with pvp gear. :erm: And he got ticked off when everyone voted that he can dps and i take over as tank. (not like we werent tanking for ourselves in any case). Then he kept taunting the bosses off me and caused total chaos. Needless to say, we kept him in with the warning that if he keeps up his crap he's booted.

We had a pally tank who's name escapes me (I was hoping to name and shame), geared in crafted lvl 77 blues along with agi and sp :wtf: attempting to tank HoL hc. He was leader so we couldn't kick him :erm:

I admit, gear is a huge factor in tps for tanks, there is the exception though. It happened while tanking for this 8k dps hunter. Now apart from the whole argument, a warrior that is not exactly highly geared, will have unlimited rage from a boss hitting you so hard that you can see even a toc25 gear healer has to keep all his hots + some healing on you. While it sounds horrible that healer still ended the fight with a full mana pool.

Anyways, while having full rage bar the whole fight, it means I do not have to follow a optimized rotation for using the least amount of rage for the best threat, instead I can just move to the ability that costs the most rage, and give the utmost threat. A.k.a. Heroic Strike. You just spam that, trust me you will have TPS that is above your gear level. It is just bad to do when you don't have unlimited rage, you will find yourself stuck very quick and dps probably dying.

I just wish I had a movie instead of a screenshot after the fight, so that people could see what happens during the fight, that would truly show how omen showed this hunter's threat right at mine the whole time.

ps. This would have never worked on my Pala tank at the same gear level.

Another thing I saw mentioned, the biggest thing that the LFG tool brought to dungeons is not the skill to master the dungeon, but the skill to master the idiots you have to put up with. In fact, I think my ignore list started growing the fastest when this system was introduced. It really really makes a difference, I just hate that sometimes you can't kick the idiot before a certain time has passed or I don't even know why the system sometimes say "This player cannot be kicked at this time". Apart from the fact that you should not be in combat, that message still confuses me.

Hence why the achievement linked to running PUGs via the new tool is called "The Patient" ;)

Was wondering about "The Patient" last nigh didn't know where I got it from lol

Is it because you did a x amount of randoms?

A player cannot be kicked when his queue buff hasnt worn off. (15 mins).

Nothing else has anything to do with it. Doesnt matter if he leader or not.
Is all about that 15 mins queue debuff.

Yes i hate it too.
Had a bot in randoms... standing by the entrance needing all the greens.
Couldnt kick him.
Had to wait till we were at the last boss to be able to kick him. By then the point is no longer even valid.

If I'm not mistaken that is incorrect.

The 15mins queue debuff is linked to your ability to queue another instance using the LFG system.
The voting function has its own timer which is only about 3-5mins iirc. I know I've definitely voted someone off way before the queue debuff had worn off right at the start of an instance when some guy went AFK >_>

Yeah, I prefer that title too. Surprising how few people seem to have it. I guess EoE isn't all that popular.

So was doing Nexus HC to farm some badges and make some cash and our tank kept running ahead of the group. Not just me, everyone. We didn't get time to loot, we didn't get time to regenerate mana nothing.

When I told him to take it a bit easy he said he didn't want to waste time and I should just have mana regen on cooldown (WTF that meant God knows, I guess he was talking about innervate?)

So I'm like, "Okay, so you're the healer now?" and he comes back to me saying "30% mana is more than enough" (Yea... right...)

He just expects us to keep up with his pace because "its not my problem"

I told him I'll show him what happens when he runs ahead like that. So he did it again and I almost let him die, but I didn't want to let the group down just before the final boss so I healed the idiot. Right after the last boss I /ignore him.

WTF do people have these attitudes? I can appreciate that he's probably 12 years old and knows "better" than us. He even went as far as saying he's DPS'ing more than the guys we had when one of them replied "orly?"

Can't he understand the reason he probably "tops" the damage meter is because he runs ahead waiting for others to catch up? I *really* wanted to let the little **** die.

Pally tanks I've experienced are the nicest people ever... courteous, they do ready checks often. They joke with you and even lets you go AFK for a second if the phone rings or whatever.

The rest of those bastards, including the DK's that think they're indestructible.... God I hate you arrogant pricks... especially if you don't listen to a simple request from the guy that's keeping you alive...

Bet you the ******* would have left the group if I let him die...

I know im no pro but im busy leveling a resto / feral tank as an alt and i know i rush ahead sometiems just so i can get the initial aggro and also i do it sometimes while my rage is high instead of letting it fall but i will never run ahead if the heaer needs to mana up or the group asks me to slow down

ok just played on my Pala tank again, don't usually feel like it, her bags/bank are a mess after being hacked and I never sorted it out, its too much of a mission.

Regardless did a quick rand LFG HC pug, and all I can say is, after playing a warrior, WOW a paladin is a joke to tank on. In fact it takes 2 buttons only (macros of 6 and 9 second cooldowns) and litterally just ran through the instance without taking damage. The healer started on 0 mana (switching dual spec) and literally needed to do minimal heals on me. A sad joke that was. Instance run took a little under 15minutes I think, didn;t stop once. Warrior/rogue dps ftw they don't need mana :)

I almost felt like I was allowed to be arrogant that run!

Oh and the hunter for fun MD'd everything to the warrior. All I saw was mobs running from one side of the room to the warrior on the other side, funny as hell, but no one died :)

Yea Pally tanking is very easy compared to any other class, I still prefer my warrior....harder but more rewarding.

Wonder who's going to be the next big tank in Cata ^_^ so that every1 will level that...

Worgen will be the next Dk I reckon. Every person is going to roll one.

Joined a guild that started with 10man-raid this weekend, having great fun, I would just like to know, we have 2 warrior tank running, 1 being me, is that OK or do we need a pally/DK tank as OT?

I don't what to switch to my pally as I'm having fun on my Warrior but I have the only geared pally tank....So far don't have problems tanking adds if the dps give me some time to get aggro.

Warriors as offtanks might struggle in the role. If rage starved you have no real way to pick up aggro besides taunt. No 'frontload' threat, so to speak. I suppose if you specced properly though (eg improved bloodrage) you could mitigate some of that problem. Stick with whats more fun though, if you don't like tanking with your pally, don't do it. Tanking and not enjoying it is the quickest way to emoragequit.

We have A LOT of pally DPS ^_^

Thanks for the reply guys.

...I have decided to stick to my warrior tank as OT, I just pref them as I have more fun playing one than pallies...
