OnePlus has confirmed one of the key specs of its upcoming OnePlus 15 flagship, with the phone set to house a massive 7,300 mAh battery.

In its latest teaser on Weibo, OnePlus has shared that the OnePlus 15 will have a 7,300 mAh battery inside.

That just sounds huge already, but it’s even more impressive when you put it into context. That’s roughly 40% larger than the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200 mAh battery, and 46% larger than the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 5,000 mAh battery. It’s nearly 22% larger than even the last-gen OnePlus 13, which already beat out the competition.

Today, OnePlus took the wraps off its new flagship duo - the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6.

The pair will launch in China initially, and we expect a global unveiling later in November.

Both phones pack Snapdragon processors and 165Hz screens, as well as massive batteries. Let's dive in.

OnePlus 15

The flagship proper gets a new design. The OnePlus 15 is now all flat, ditching the quad-curved display. The screen is entirely different, too, no longer a 6.82-inch QHD 120Hz unit but a 6.78-inch FHD+ 165Hz one. It's a newer BOE X3 panel. The bezels are an even, smaller 1.15mm on all sides.

This makes the OnePlus 15 overall smaller than its predecessor.

The camera system has changed, too. Firstly, it's no longer a collaboration with Hasselblad and now uses Oppo's Lumo Imaging System. The main camera is still a 50MP unit but with a smaller sensor (1/1.56" vs 1/1.4"), and the 50MP zoom is a 3.5x 85mm unit (vs the 73mm 3x of old). The third camera is a 50MP 16mm f/2.0 ultrawide. There's a 32MP selfie upfront.

The latest flagship naturally has the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. A key upgrade over the OnePlus 13 is the new, massive 7,300mAh battery. It also bumps up charging to 120W wired and 50W wireless.

The OnePlus 15 runs ColorOS 16 on top of Android 16.

I wish they would launch in SA. I loved my Oneplus, but it's just too much effort to have one here with no easy access to screen protectors/cases and support to fix it and resale when you want a new phone. I went with Samsung.

Years ago I got a 7T Pro through Vodacom, the first and last time I've seen a local service provider offer OnePlus.

I honestly thought it was the start of something great locally but alas, it was not...

I've been a OP user since 2016/OP3T. Since then I've had the 5, 6, 7 Pro, 7T pro and now 12...

Touchwood never had any issues with any of them. Have never battled selling them on. Have never battled with accessories. Hell, even imported replacements batteries for my 7T Pro and had the battery replaced at a local cell phone shop.

Screen protectors are tough to get but I resorted to getting custom cut plastic one's. Most cellphone stores can replicate them now. R200-R250 and I change it as regularly as required.

Anyway, if I had the moola and the motivation I would open a OnePlus store in SA. I think it would do very well...

I had a 8 Pro, which I loved. Imported it. I got my screen protectors and cases from Amazon, but one day I dropped it and the back glass shattered. It was a mission to get a replacement back and then ask a cell repair shop to do the repairs for me (I didn't want to risk doing it myself).

yeah got my 7TP still, fantastic phone, bet ive owned but it is showing its age

The OnePlus 15 is now available globally, here are the prices

Two weeks ago, OnePlus started offering early bird deals for its latest flagship – that is now over with as the OnePlus 15 is officially available in global markets. Make that “most global markets”.

Compared to the OnePlus 13 launch prices, the US price is the same. In Europe, the 12/256GB model is €50 cheaper, but the 16/512GB variant is now €50 more. In India, both models are ₹3,000 more.

Note that there is a speed bump in the US – if you’ve been following the news, you know that the US government had been shut down for a while. This included the FCC, which wasn’t issuing new certificates in the meantime. OnePlus says that the 15 has passed all required tests by FCC-recognized labs – all that’s left is for the FCC to issue the certificate. The government shutdown ended yesterday, so, hopefully, it won’t be long now. Sales in Canada are not affected and start today.

staggering specs ..... this is currently the most awesome phone you should be able to get and IMHO the iphone 17 is going to suffer from some huge jealousy syndromes - though i would like to compare it to a finalized S26 ultra (even though i already know that this thing is going to be way better in the battery and possibly the camera departments to the S25 ultra despite the review saying that the cameras are worse than the OnePlus 13)

The OnePlus 15 is the latest flagship smartphone from the Shenzhen-based smartphone brand. The newer model features several improvements over its predecessor, the OnePlus 13, that you expect from a generational upgrade, such as a faster processor, a bigger battery, faster charging, and a higher refresh rate display. However, there is one aspect of the spec sheet that has caught everyone’s eye, and that is the rear camera specifications.

You see, much like with every other aspect of the phone, we expect the cameras to be upgraded over the previous generation as well. However, OnePlus had made the curious choice of picking lower-quality parts from its camera bin this generation, which, on paper, makes the new OnePlus 15 look worse than the OnePlus 13. But while things may not look rosy on the hardware front, OnePlus may have a trick up its sleeve when it comes to software.

The company recently ended its four-year-long partnership with Hasselblad, with the latter now working exclusively with OnePlus’s sister company Oppo. OnePlus, meanwhile, is turning a new leaf in its camera journey with something it calls DetailMax Engine. This new processing pipeline is designed to produce more natural-looking images that have less of the artificially processed look and more realistic detail. The phone can also churn out higher resolution 26MP files from its main and telephoto cameras, by combining multiple 12MP frames for dynamic range information with a 50MP frame for raw detail. All of this is combined with the improved processing grunt of the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.

But how do these new software tricks help the OnePlus 15 against the OnePlus 13 with its better hardware? In this report, we will focus primarily on the point of contention between these two phones, which is the photo quality from the three cameras on the back, to see which one comes out on top.
