For me it's still a bit early to tell, I have been syncing my Rdio music most of the day, I will give an update again in a few days...

The 64GB model is $389. Shipping to a US location should be around $12 (what they charged to ship my OP1). Courier shipping to SA via a mail forwarding service should cost between $50 and $65 incl. insurance.

As for customs:
- 14% import duty on $339 ($50 charger value exempt) = $47.46
- 14% VAT on $480.11 (original value + duties + 10%) = $67.21
Total: $114.67

So going with a courier fee of $60 to be safe and a further charge of R200 by the courier to process your customs stuff on your behalf, the total cost should be around R7667.

The amount can be much lower if you defraud customs, but that carries its own risks.

If you're willing to spend that much on a phone why not just buy something locally? I love my OnePlus One, but the thought of how much drama I would incur if I needed to send it for repairs is a constant cloud over my head.

From the local Orange store:
Samsung S6 - R8445
Nexus 6 - R6630
LG G4 - R8325
Sony Z3 - R6995

This is my thinking too. The hassle and extra costs detracts quite a bit from the attractive pricing in dollars. I'm thinking a Nexus or Motorola through Orange might be a better idea.

If I do receive the One+2 invitation and I don't want to use it, can I somehow allow someone else to use it?

I would assume so. I passed on loads of OP1 invites.
 
I have an Invite. It says only linked to my email though but if u want you can try it. Pm me if you are keen. Got it around 6pm last night so still time to claim it

Thanks! I have doubts about the size of the phone and the postage/duties though. I'm thinking it might make more sense to wait for the Nexus 5 (2015) to become available on Orange.
