Battery must have improved, but I don't fully charge so maybe thats why I didn't feel it

Man... I love this phone... that's all I can say.
I got a iphone 13 mini thinking I wanted a smaller phone.
But I just cannot get away from this phone. It's just so much better at everything, especially after the last update!
What to do

Some years ago I traded my iPhone 6 in for a OnePlus 3T. I can honestly say I've never felt the urge to go back to owning an iPhone.

I bought a samsung s22 just before this patch dropped. I miss so many things from the OP :(

Had to use the nova launcher just because I like to scroll through my apps and not swipe. The gestures just don't feel the same on the S22. I also had to get an app to show me network traffic, something thats supported natively on the OP software. There is also so much bloat on the samsung :(

But I wanted to get a phone that I can actually replace the battery after 3 years (or sooner) and I wanted wireless charging. I was able to get it for a bargain on carbonite, so that helps dampen the longing to the OP7P....

I was a pretty big OP fan since I got the OP3 and 7pro, but they removed a lot of the nice stuff, like the alert slider and attractive pricing. Now they are just another generic phone brand.

Edit: added some more background stuff.

One thing that is missing:
I have a USB C hub that has an ethernet cable.
When plugged into the OP 7T Pro, I don't get an ethernet connection.
My wife's crappier Xiaomi supports ethernet.

Is this locked down on the OP?

Did you try playing around with the different types of usb modes while the dongle is plugged in?
Charging/MDI/File transfer/etc.

I'm replying to this on a OnePlus 7T Pro Maclaren from T-Mobile, with a USC3-to-Etherenet adapter. I have wifi and mobile data disabled, and speedtest give me faster times than ever. To enable it, I went to Settings->Bluetooth & device connections->USB then selected USB tethering and it sensed there was no PC, so it fell back to running network over the USB and now shows under USB "No data transfer" but is running a network via the USB.

Like the other person posted, it shows <•••> in the upper right notification bar when it's using USB Etherenet.
Maybe ..

Stock launcher is no match for a custom launcher. Nova, Niagara, Lawnchair, Squarehome, all better alternatives if you looking to tinker or custom your home screen.

OnePlus launcher, while nice and repsonsive, lacks flexibility.

Where can one find a replacement OnePlus charging cable that isn't going to cost R700?

I'm so confused re charging cables. None of the generics I've ever used charge at the rate that the original cable did.

Now, I know that not all cables are equal but I've bought cables that are purported to support high rates of charging and they simply don't. So tired of forking out for parts that don't deliver.

AFAIK they are propriety cables, just swith to a 65w GaN charger and appropriate cable and you should be close enough to the original charge speed.

I have a 7T and my cable started breaking at the charger...
Looked online and found a decently priced cable on Takealot. I think it was R100
Cellucity had one for R500 but I couldn't justify spending that on what is essentially still an unbranded cable.

The 7T needs a 6A cable for Warp charging and it has been working fine for about a month now.

PS - Don't even bother with cell shops (Voda, MTN etc etc...), they they had no clue what I was asking for when I said '6 amps'. I looked at a bunch of shops and they mainly stock the 2.4A

Thanks for that!! You wouldn't perhaps have the Takealot link for that cable? Going to take a look now and see if I can find something similar...

Something like this perhaps??

Yep, that's it. Fyi the 1m is quite short...

So, using the new cable and the orginial Oneplus power brick, I get to 80% from dead after 60 minutes. Device displays Warp charging notification but it's not quite charging at max potential. So close yet so far. It takes a good 20 more minutes to reach 100%... hmmmmm.... a little disappointed if I'm being honest.... I was hopeful of getting a full charge around the 60 minute mark...

Prior to getting the new cable, I've been using my iPad Pro charging brick and cable. I reckon the charging speeds are on a par. Will wait for the battery to empty and will test on my next full charge from dead...

So the charging speeds are far from being on a par. iPad cable and brick Vs OnePlus charger and 3 party 6A cable.

I got to 26% in 30 minutes from dead using the iPad gear, 40% in 30 from the OP gear. Big difference.

What's a little perplexing, my iPad doesn't charge at all using the OP gear. Talk about discriminatory...

Anyone having an issue with the front camera after the update?
My font camera is no longer working, it will pop up but the screen remains black, any ideas how to fix this.
