Oneplus 7T and 7T Pro

on my 7T Pro been noticing recently that my WhatsApp messages some times only comes through when I open the app. No battery saving or data usage restrictions applied to Whatsapp.

Anyone else experiencing similar? ANy other things to check.
Still using mine but on Android 11. Not updating. Don't have this issue.

Never mind that, have you replaced the battery yet?

Re Whatsapp, try clearing cache, try toggle battery optimizations on and then off..

Looking at my battery optimization settings....

I would have expected "allow background activity" to be toggled on for push to work. Apparently not...

Not yet, the battery is still okay. I am hesitant to open this phone. Need to find someone capable to do it as well.

Me too. I have toggled it on now. Lets see if that helps.

@sand_man @ClarityJuice @Saaj9 @CamiKaze anyone buy a good screen protector for the 7T Pro recently?

found this but never bought from here. current one is the custom cut from Cellucity but its coming out after a year or so
I get mine custom cut from a shop on Grant Avenue, Norwood, my hood, super convenient, R250 and it's perfect! No issues..

PS it's my 2nd one from them, first one got some dings and did eventually start lifting but due to the case I'm using, more than a defective installation.

So what we doing for battery replacements? My battery performance has fallen off a cliff. It's so bad I recently did a fresh install. Killed root, locked the bootloader and basically reverted to stock.

I've ordered a OnePlus 12, should have it within the next week or so. I had planned on selling the 7T Pro but I couldn't in good faith offload this device with the battery in the state it is in. The phone is otherwise IMMACULATE!!

Insofar as the 7T Pro includes a popup camera and hence no camera cutout, I regard it as the peak of phone design. I'm keeping mine. I've been on the 12 for about two months now, and I'm extremely happy with it. It's just about perfect, apart from the camera cutout.

You'll notice that the fingerprint reader on the 12 is much better than the 7T Pro, which was too slow for my liking. Also, the proximity sensor on the 7T Pro caused me many headaches. The screen wouldn't stay off during calls and take input from my face. No such issues with the 12.

Interesting. Yeah. I might keep mine too. Such a good phone. Really brilliant. Just wish I could get a new battery.

I still have not installed my new battery, nervous to have someone open the device up. my phone's battery life is actually decent to me still.

will try and make a plan for more batteries if my friend from china comes down anytime soon.

also just got another screen protector installed at cellucity.

the tempered glass one I got from china just lost its stickiness.

cellucity no longer offer the one with the UV glue but did have a ready to stick matt one which seems to be doing well.

I caved and just ordered 3 batteries off of Aliexpress. Shipping is more than 3 batteries combined. Hope they decent quality.... my concern is that they rubbish...

I'll take my phone up the road to the local repair store I use for all my screen protectors. They appear to be relatively competent.

Quite a simple process if you do battery replacements regularly....

My local does a machine tooled screen cover, very good. Quite happy with the net result and at R200 a pop I'm quite prepared to change it annually.

Application is flawless, impossible to achieve with tempered glass screen protectors. That is unfortunately the caveat with curved screens.

not a terrible price for 3 batteries.

planning to sell the extras if they are worthwhile?

Yeah. The batteries themselves are ridiculously cheap. Was actually tempted to get a lot more than 3, considering the hefty shipping cost. I wasn't going to take the regular mail option on shipping. Just not worth the risk with the sapo.

My brother in law also has a 7t pro so will offer him one and definitely consider selling the 3rd one.

There must be a market for them? A chunk of aging 4 year old 7t pros out there I'm sure? Such a great phone still.
