No. The invite is to get you on the waiting list. What is the invite all about? Is it like being on a waiting list? Lol

This phone was pretty awesome when it was announced, but now the specs are hardly anything to be super excited about. All the other phone manufacturers are catching up and their rollout is happening a lot faster.
Disappointing really, as I really thought they could blast away some of the big boys.
Are you kidding? The phone is still ridiculously awesome. Please tell me about all the other $349 phones with 64GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, 2.5GHz quad-core, 3100mAh battery, Cyanogenmod 11s etc.
OK. So, do you have one? How much did you pay for it? All the way to getting it into your hands.

Simply. Those millions of people are in other countries and we cannot relate us getting the phone and them getting it.Yeah, I got mine a while ago. It cost around R5k in total and took 6 business days to ship. What does that have to do with the millions of people who only need to pay $10 to ship to their supported address?

That being said, 5K is still not bad though.
But your earlier comment had nothing to do with the OnePlus One in SA and was a general comment. R5k for one of the best Android phones in existence is a bit more than not bad, especially considering it has 64GB internal storage. No other device has Cyanogenmod out the box, and I'm guessing very few operate as smoothly and have battery life like what I posted in the Nexus 5 thread.
All I'm saying is that when the phone was introduced, to what it is now, comparing to how many people actually have it, it's not that big of a deal anymore. When it was released the specs were top of the range, and yes, some of it still is. But considering that is still a 'brand new' device which has been in roll out mode for 6 months it's not that 'top of the range' anymore.
The OnePlus One still benchmarks with the best of them, so yes, it is still a 'top of the range' device. The fact that it costs less than half of the devices it shares the top end of the spectrum with makes it extraordinary.
The fact that it has extremely limited availability has nothing to do with the phone's quality.
Whoa, very defensive. I didn't say the limited availability is effecting the phone's quality. I'm saying, because the phone is still being rolled out 6 months from launch, it is not as top tier specs as what it was 6 months ago. Just the fact that one has to jump through so many hoops just to get your hands on it, is off putting, for me at least.
Sure, I'm not the target market for this phone, because I get my phones on upgrades, but I am actually considering/thinking about getting the new Nexus when it launches. I saw the N5 the other day for the first time in real life, and I like it. And being not only on cutting edge hardware, but software as well is making it an attractive deal.
It just grinds my balls the way this rollout has been handled from them, that's all. But hey, it's their first phone... maybe the next one will be planned better.
Like? Would orange not sort most of it?Just beware, you might have to jump through hoops for the new Nexus phone like we had to for the N5 albeit less hoops.
