So, I finally received my OnePlus 1 this morning. Let me share my shipping experience.

Order placed:
After receiving an invite I placed my order with the OnePlus 1 website on the 20th of September. The cost for the 64gb version is USD $349, plus a USPS delivery fee of USD $14.34

Shipping:
Because OnePlus does not ship to SA, I shipped my phone to NYbox. My phone was shipped from Rosemead CA to my NYbox in Delaware, seeing that there isn’t any sales tax in that state. Once the item arrived in Delaware it was shipped to the Long Island warehouse (this took 2 days extra) and my package was in my NYbox inbox on the 29th of September.

Word of advice: I had a few hiccups with my NYbox account, if you choose to use them (which I would advise against) pray to the courier gods that there are no complications. Customer service is non-existent, they seldom reply to emails, and communication is pathetic. I eventually got everything sorted (no thanks to them) and my item was shipped to SA on the 30th of September.

I declared the value as USD $100 with NYbox to try and reduce possible disbursement fees. Item arrived this morning (3 October) via UPS, total custom and Disbursement fees was R295. The fee for the final UPS courier, including the NYbox fee was USD $35. Once UPS had my parcel I was at ease, you can track it all the way to SA.

Breakdown for total cost:
Phone: $349
Courier fees: $14.34 + $35
Tax & disbursement fees: R295
With the exchange rate I had at the time total cost came to R4900

Ill do a proper writeup/review after a week of use. Ill probably root after a few weeks, upon that Ill probably test a few custom roms.

Congrats, and welcome to the club! If you want to make the device look like it's running Android L, the best theme I've found for that is Android L Dark.

Love this theme, used it on my G2 when I ran the CM11S port.

Going to use nybox to ship the phone. Just have a question for the people that already has the phone. Does it come with a US plug? Will have have to buy a special adapter to use the charger?

Really want this phone but still a bit nervous shipping it from the US and then using nybox. Hope everything goes well.

Not yet, just signed up to them. Are they really that bad? I've read a lot of negative reviews about myus so I decided to try nybox. What about stackry?

I've sent my oneplus to them- it's still there, just waiting for a cover I sent there too, then I'll ship it off. Only after I sent it to them did I read the negative reviews about them, and how they aren't trustworthy (NYbox, that is). Tman received his through them a couple days ago, he wrote something about it a couple posts ago. I think stackry is ok, can't comment too much about them

I used stackry and was very happy. They are good with responding to requests and shipped as soon as I paid.

What I liked about stackry is that you can consolidate so I got some covers and then you tell them what is in the package when it arrives so can get "creative" for the commercial invoice

I got a US charger but had a universal plug that works no probs. Got it at Clicks of all places a while back
