Got the same SMS.. Think it's legit.. They need ID details for customs I think

Order was shipped with Stackry. But I got this dodgy sounding SMS...

"77199440xxxx, Dear Customer,please could you URGENTLY email: l.freddy@fedex.supaswift.co.za regarding tracking # , FedEx requires your ID number/importers code to proceed with customs clearance. Kind Regards Lance (DO NOT REPLY TO SMS,PLEASE ADD TRACKING NUMBER IN EMAIL)"

They do infact need your ID for customs clearance. I shipped with UPS, and they phoned me to ask for my ID.

If I were you, Id rather phone Fedex to confirm

it is legit - I received an email this morning with a pro forma invoice for customs charges from that same email address..I had received the same SMS yesterday afternoon..I think that's how FedEx operates..can anybody that's used FedEx confirm this?

I got the same thing. Contact them quickly to help speed up the customs clearance etc or you will wait

when did you actually pay them? I've gotten the pro forma invoice but haven't been given any info about making the payment.

DHL never asked me for my ID. They just sent me an invoice with their banking details and I paid immediately.

Haha tell me about it, was stressing! DHL pulled through, they got it this morning and managed to deliver 2 hours later. Will save on import and shipping, but the price in Pounds was considerably more than in USD when converting to Rands! Thanks again for the invite!!!

I upgraded from an S3 running CM and the difference was massive. Go for it.
