Ongoing Palestinian terror attacks against Israel.

Here's a revolutionary idea - Israel doesn't have to put down their guns, they can just stop illegally occupying someone else's land.

The surrounding countries attacked Israel twice and lost, so Israel took the land. A little embarrassing to lose twice. Egypt realised this and said "We're sorry" and they got their land back.

they should have thought of the consequences before deciding to try and wipe Israel off the map....you know, the Islam ideology?
Ring a bell?
No, not really. Maybe you'd like to explain your Islamophobia in detail.

Remind me, what's the Christian Palestinian population like. What's their views with regards to the occupation?

I'm not desperate for anything bud, I just don't take kindly to you posting bull**** as if it means anything, that's all.

Enough of your fscking BS assumptions already. I don't have a side other than that of the people of both sides who are dying daily.

We're talking about why Israel occupied the land in the first place. That was 1967. The first intifada started in 1987. Hamas was only founded during the time of this uprising.

So it's kinda hard to see how you could call Hamas a government for the Palestinian people at that point in history. The argument that those territories serve as some kind of defensive measure against any neighbouring country is patently absurd.

You are so sure that YOU can solve the problems of the world by your constant trolling these subjects. You think too much of yourself.

Heres why it would never change ever. So do not hold your breath.

Not at all. But if one is going to talk about the problems, one might as well identify them properly. (And identifying them properly just happens to be the FIRST step towards crafting a solution, btw...)

You think too much of yourself.
Rather too much than too little.

It's going to change soon enough. Will probably be much too late for the two-state solution, though. And it won't be because of anything Israel or the Palestinians do, either.

So they can just deny the Palestinians their rights to self-determination in perpetuity because of it?

And what of the basic human right to resist an occupying force as guaranteed by the UN which Israel is a member of?

Are you now just intentionally winding me up? Where do you get these assumptions from and why do you keep making them about me?

You were the one responding to OrbitalDawn. I know for a fact that his position is one which supports the rights of the Palestinians. It's precisely because he's advocating for their basic human rights that he said in the first place.

So tell me, if not in opposition to that, what exactly were you speaking to him about in the first place?

That this situation is not going to stop regardless of what territories Israel do or do not hold. Gaza is under Palestinian control since 2005 (iirc) and the threat to Israel has increased 10 fold. You think Israel is going to just retreat and fight? Why would they pull out of the WB and defend from inside Israel? That would be stupid and suicidal.

It is pretty obvious to me that the unforgivable and terrible suffering of the Palestinian people is shared equally by Israeli and Palestinian leaders. 50/50 right down the middle. Both are complicit and both should be held accountable. Taking sides is ridiculous and I care only about the people caught in the middle while people like you argue one side or the other.

Gaza is not under Palestinian control. Gaza is blockaded from all directions by the Israelis (in conjunction with the Egyptians) and you won't find a single nation that says that Gaza does not remain occupied territory.

Arguing against the people that suggest that Israel's rights much be respected above all etc. is not picking one side over the other. Personally, I don't care what the solution looks like so long as everybody in the area can live in peace. But recognising the very real obstacles to peace is the only way that this ever has a chance of becoming a reality.

Sorry, I don't understand. Can you explain what you mean that 'Gaza is not under Palestinian control'

And surely Israel are doing what OD (and you by association and your line of questioning earlier) advocated and withdrew from an occupied territory? Should all the soldiers go home and leave the border open or what would you suggest?

You want to talk about reality then look at it from both sides.

The Palestinians are being used and abused horribly by their leaders and they are the ones who hold the future in their hands. That is the starting point because try as you might or argue as much as you want, Israel is not backing down. They can't, their very existence depends on it. So, starting point is the people who are spending money on bombs and tunnels instead of building lives for their people.

That's where the pressure needs to be and that's where the change needs to happen. Because until then, the Palestinian people will continue to be pawns in their leaders game and they will continue to lose every time their leaders send over another rocket.

That's reality.

Quick question, there were those mercy ships that were attacked by the Israeli navy, right?

So can Gaza freely move shipping in and out along it's coast?

Just what I say. Gaza still gets its funds and money from Israel. Israel collects taxes on behalf of Gaza, etc. etc.

Well for starters they should stop shooting at all Palestinian vessels more than a kilometer or two from the shore...

The Palestinians would keep on fighting without any leadership whatsoever at this point.

They can't, their very existence depends on it. So, starting point is the people who are spending money on bombs and tunnels instead of building lives for their people.
You realise that the majority of the tunnels are used to smuggle goods into Gaza, right? There happens to be something of a blockade going on in case you didn't notice...

The Israelis are the ones holding all the cards at the moment, not the Palestinians. Pressure goes onto the side most capable of doing something proactive. Even if the Palestinians all, as a group, renounced violence today and stopped doing anything to antagonise Israel the settlements would not stop or even slow down.

No, there's a blockade. The Israeli's say that munitions and such are arriving by ship so they blockade the coast. And with the amount of rockets fired out of Gaza, you can see their reasoning. There have been a few rockets fired the last couple of days I believe.

I should point out for those who are hard of thinking, that by saying what's happening I'm not actually agreeing with it.

Yeah, sounds like they are in a prison. If I was in that situation I would do what they do. Human nature.

You are talking krap about Israel being innocent.

Lol. Where did I say that?

Oh, of course. Because you are a one eyed bigot and have all of your thinking done for you since birth, yet I have a brain that I actually use without following along like a little sheep, you don't understand me?

Gotcha.
