I am considering going wireless for my next internet connection. What are your current experiences with playing onlinegames and your wirelessinternet.

I specific i would like to know what kindof pings youre getting for first person shooters, and secondly wouldlike to know how stable the connections are and which provider/configuration youre running.

I have used my Cell C HSPA+ contract. The only FPS that i have played is BF 3. Sadly (as far as i can tell) you can only view other players pings, so i can't give you an indication of performance in numbers, but in general the game has been very playable. On the odd occasion it has misbehaved a bit. About a year back i played some WoW which hung around 250-400ms on average.

The connection strength in our area is very good. Playing the same games on my 8ta connection which has significantly worse connection strength drastically reduces performance. So keep this in mind when choosing a provider.

I spent christmas in Hermanus / Onrus and played a bit on a 3G connection with fairly poor signal strength. I did a speed test and a ping test, everything seemed to running smoothly with around 1mbps dl and 230ms ping to bbc.co.uk. So I booted up my laptop once everyone else had gone to bed on christmas eve and decided to jam some HoN... It was very playable except that I disconnected every 10 minutes which is super frustrating.

It'd probably be best to just buy a small internet bundle and use your phone as a modem to check it out.
