Only some website connecting

Ok so please please please help me out.
ADSL line disconnected the other day and after getting it connected again after having to fight with Telkom. Can access gmail.com and ping websites but they dont load on the machine.. have 3 to 4 pc's running at a time, gmail opens fine and fast.. facebook loads only the home page and nothing else.

Sites likes News24.com or any other for that matter loads - progress bar goes till about 25% then stops and keeps loading for a very very long time the says DONE in the bottom left corner but the screen is blank. ISP finds no problems (3 in total) and according to Hellkom the line is fine.
using a billion adsl router with win7 and winxp on pcs - worked with no problems till last week thursday.
 
I'm with IS and some websites also fail to load, slowwwwww.
 
I have no idea what it could be. not the router either according to some people as it connects and downloads.. so im stumped...
 
Strange I can get a adsl speedtest and 3G is fine, and can download but surfing is slow, going to flush cache and internet files and try a restart.
 
Yeah it's working again - flushed dns and deleted all temp internet files and It's slightly better but not fully, at least getting to google's front page.
 
lol googles front page how about other sites?
i want to go try flushing but 3 pcs have the same issue. will have to do all of them if it works. just not sure how it happens
 
Nope false alarm back to slow ass downloading and websites, all websites.
I recently install spybot, wonder is that is giving ****.
On another workstation now and it's fast, everything - it just seems to be my laptop with xp.
 
hehehe ok its just the laptop then ;) this issue is affecting all my pcs at the same time.
 
umm not at the pc now. not sure drukkie. pcs are set to automatically detect and ip is static
 
Check if there's a process called "nmindexstore" under task manager running, I disabled this on my laptop and now I can download and browse 100%
 
I have been having a similar problem since Sunday, everything is excrutiatingly slow but it's like a rollercoaster, have to keep reloading pages, local and int, anything it's all the same. I ran a gamco speed test now (it hardly ever works since this problem) - literally telling me 40kbps - it's a 4meg line.

I've seen random other complaints that are the same, but no common factors other than 4mbit lines. I'm in Randburg. I'm using Web Africa. I am getting worried because I really don't know what to do to fix this.
